What are the qualifications (assuming any are necessary)? Some actors are just underrated so you want to champion them that way. Others are just great at disappearing into roles. Still others are charming or magnetic or just simply attractive to you. And for those of us on this forum, maybe some evoke that aspect that we identify with. Like maybe Amber Heard or Anna Paquin or Lena Headey. Or you find them funny or interesting like Kristen Wiig or Tina Fey. Or maybe despite yourself you just fancy them, like Natalie Portman or Lauren Cohan. Or you want to be them like, hmmm, I don't really want to be an actor, I think they can be pretty messed up, from what I hear.
I think 15 to 25 years can make a huge difference in the shelf life of movie stars, so there are some whose names I know, but can't picture. I'll have to think about this, because I've got definite opinions ... and definite favorites.
Why are you guys giving huge lists of Hollywood stars? For me, 3 are on the very top of my list : Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Meg Ryan
Neil Patrick Harris Jeff Perry (plays Cyrus Beene in scandal, a gay character. Has some of THE MOST EPIC monologues EVER) Aaron Paul Bryan Cranston Tom Cruise (he may be crazy and in a cult but he is a dang good actor) Pretty much the entire cast of How I met Your Mother (minus Jason Segal but he IS a BRILLIANT writer) Laverne Cox Taylor Schilling and so so so many others but these are just off the top of my head.
Christian Bale is way up there, he's really good. Meryl Streep is a good one. Tom Hiddleston, and Benedict Cumberbatch. I do like Jennifer Lawrence quite a bit and I adore Michael Fassbender.
My faves are far, far from being the most talented. If a movie has Keanu Reeves or Winona Ryder I am in the front row!
