Does anyone else love this movie?!
If you know me, then you know that I eat, sleep, and breathe the British Monarchy.
I adore it, and I live to learn and study it.
One day, I hope to meet a royal.
    Anyways.
I've got SEVERAL Monarchy films including:

    Elizabeth The Golden Age.
    The Queen.
    Elizabeth. (Starring Cate Blanchette).
    Elizabeth. (Starring Helen Mirren).
The complete first season of the Tudors.
    Victoria and Albert.
    The Madness of King George.
    Becket.
    The Other Boelyn Girl.

And I must say that The Golden Age is indeed my favourite.
I'm not sure if it's the storyline, or the focus that they put on the Armada, or the cast choice.
After all, we all know that Clvie Owen is a complete heart-throb.
But other than him, I adore Cate, and Geoffrey.

Anyone else like films like this one?
Better yet, has anyone seen this one or any of the others mentioned above?

Elizabeth the Golden Age was a very good movie, everything during that time was like SO PRETTY. However i must say that i liked The Other Boleyn Girl way better. But what can i say, im a boy who likes his royal scandals xD

I have the DvD, it think it's very educational and informative. I also love the emotional aspects and the whole concept. It's a very interesting move and 100% better than "The Other Boleyn Girl"

OMG.. I have to have to comment on this Movie.. It's actually a pretty good and most importantly historically accurate movie, even though it portrays King Phillip and the Habsburgs empire a tad bit negatively.

I really think they should produce more historically accurate Early Modern Mediterranean and European film because I'd watch all of them! But, yeah this is an awesome film!

despite the horribly shot heoric Clive Owen moments this actually is a WICKED film. I was ASTONISHED at the level of acting Cate Blanchett can perform at. It was so entertaing just to watch her act mad and powerful but also weak and confused at the same time. She can work her eyes so well she just can portray a million emotions in like an emotion soup!

Woah I didn't know there was another Elizabeth I film with Cate Starring.. Though yeah.. Golden Age should be more interesting because it depicts the fall of the Spanish Armada and the threshold of a new period in Europe and Mediterranean where the English fleet was recognized to be unmatched. [And some evidence showed the England got advice from the Ottomans in order to win this imperative battle. Go turks!]

    I couldn't agree more.
I'd have to say one of my favourite parts of the film is when she practically cusses out the Spanish Ambassador, Quadra. (Yeah, that's his real name).

"You go back to your rat hole. You tell Phillip I fear neither him nor his preists nor his armies...I too can command the wind sir! I have a hurricane in me that will strip Spain bare if you dare to try me!"
