I'm a pretty big Pony Fan, but just finally watched the first two episodes of season 4. I can't say they did a whole lot for me. I like the character of Discord, but feel these episodes more or less wasted much of his devious potential. And I found very little to laugh at, overall. The whole things felt a bit stiff. I'd have to give this a 4/10, tops, compared to all the other episodes.

I'm hopeful things will pick up as the show goes on; the hour-long ones often tend to seem overly dramatic. I don't even recall a single song!

Curious what others thought...and really hopeful that some of the future episodes will remind me of why I started watching.

I personally loved the season premiere. I don't care there was nothing to laugh about or any songs, seasons 1 and 2 premieres didn't have any songs, so why it's suddenly a requirement after season 3 did is beyond me, the stage setting for the season as a whole was far more interesting to me. Better still, the girls realizing they don't need the Elements of Harmony to stay friends was, in my opinion, past due and I was happy to see it. And as far as Discord goes, I'm actually happy he is where the writing staff brought him at this point. He's still the same Discord he ever was, he's just not actively antagonizing anypony anymore. At least, no longer on such a grand scale. And I for one have to give props to the animators. They stepped their game up and it shows. 10/10 as far as I'm concerned. All of my gripes with it are just nitpicky little things, not enough to diminish the greatness of it.

Huh, I guess for me it seemed like a kind of recycling bin of past shows. But to each their own! I'll have to see what episode three brings...

Season 1 - giggle at the ghostie
So, there was a song there ^_^

I'm yet to see season four, I'm waiting till both my best friend and I can watch it on Skype. He lives a pretty long way away, and I hope we can watch it soon - from what I've heard it's supposed to be a good season

Forgot about that. But still, season premieres of My Little Pony are not required to have songsso I don't know why so many are complaining that this season premiere didn't.

And yes, it is pretty good so far, in my opinion.

Yes, and she shall be forevermore. I could be a dick here and suggest you not watch if you have a problem with it, but I swear on the sun, her being an alicorn is not a bad thing and the series can still be good.

I don't think they're required to have songs - plenty of the eps without them were just as brilliant. (Like sleepless in ponyville, if you don't count sweetie belles "buckets of oats on the wall). Maybe the people complaining were hoping for a song? Though I doubt they'll be too disappointed **MINOR SPOILER** apparently there's going to be quite a few songs this season.

I know, and that's fine. I'm just saying, nearly everyone I've seen review the season premiere complained about the lack of a new song, and I say why? I feel it did not need any songs.

I'm not saying it needed a song, it just felt overly dramatic to me, and well, slow---songs or no songs. I'm also not big on the pageantry/royalty aspects, I guess. The whole princess this, and princess that aspect bores me a bit...I support a democracy in Equestria! (jk)

It is amusing to me, the debates we have about this show

We did have Bronycon here in Baltimore last summer, about 12 blocks away...I didn't
go in ($60), but went down and there was some really good people watching to be had. Saw a few guys with really cool Rainbow-Dash mohawks, and some great fursuits. It made the city a lot brighter.
