Adventure Time vs My Little Pony

I like MLP, but Adventure Time just presses all the right buttons for me.

Am I the only one here *cocks gun* who doesn't like Adventure Time? I honestly do not see what the big deal is. Now, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Scooby Doo, those shows I get.

 

Southpark is best adult cartoon.

 

I love MLP:FiM, and even thought Equestria Girls wan't bad.
But I've been a fan of Adventure Time since I first saw the original Nicktoons short on Youtube years ago.
Despite the great animation, acting, and characters, MLP comes off as somewhat cheesy and heavy-handed when it comes to lessons- and there's always a lesson.

AT though, has weird animation, original characters, and even surprisingly adult jokes. When MLP has an episode where a villain kills a hero and wears his skin in order to trick the main characters into helping him eliminate all life in the universe, or the horror of a small child watching her protector slowly lose his mind and his memories in order to protect her, then maybe MLP will reach the level of awesome that AT has.

Scooby Doo is classic fun, but it isn't great- just delightfully ridiculous.
(The exception being the Johnny Bravo/ Scooby Doo crossover, which was as awesome as it sounds)

 

It's very hard for me to choose between MLP and Scooby Doo.

 

My Little Pony isn't an adult cartoon my niece likes my Little Pony, she is 4. I require a show that is much more stimulating.

Adventure Time would take the cake outta the two, but my 12 year old cousins love that show, therefore I wouldn't consider it adult.

South Park appeals to all ages, so it isn't strictly adult.

Archer, that's an adult cartoon that requires more thought and understanding of adult nuances. That is definitely the best purely adult cartoon. So well written and funny. That show is the MASTER of SEGUEs, every scene flows into each other perfectly. When one scene ends, the last word gets cut off and is used as the first word of the next scene, so every single scene is linked to the prior one linguistically. Never seen a show do that. They also have a gay character, though flamboyant, at least we're represented in that, the children shows listed wouldn't bother throwing in a variable like that into a story or let a lone every story.

 

I can't choose. They're both awesome.

 

MLP is good, But i'm going with Adventure Time.

 

Why are we mentioning adult cartoons?

As far as adult cartoons go, I nominate Archer (along with Frisky Dingo for an honorable mention) and The Venture Brothers.

 

Adventure time is sooo good, I can waste all day on netflix with it. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, as previously mentioned in this thread, is also really good.

 

I like Scooby Doo then My Little Pony. Adventure Time never appealed to me.

 

I like MLP and Scooby Doo but none of them compare to the awesomeness of South Park.
