    Hiya! ^_^

I was wondering who else here likes Yaoi.
For anyone who doesn't know Yaoi is gay romance anime/manga.

I don't really read the highly pornographic ones, i can read mine at school, I'm mostly in it for the cute romance part of it.
(I never thought I would be a romantic till I found out I like guys:lol:slight_smile:

    Anyway..
Just wanting to start a discussion about my newest obsession!

PS. Right now I'm reading little butterfly very good

I like the yaoi, though I haven't read or seen much. Sadly, I don't have much access these days.

Still, I like the stories (and don't mind at all that some of the ones I've read included sex scenes :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ) about as much as I like straight romance.

Naturally, I have certain yaoi fanships...

  3. I'm not a fan of yaoi, but I love yuri, which is the lesbian equivalent.

Yaoi, Yuri, I'm there  In my years of internetting, I've come across a lot, and its hard not to harm up to it once you've seen a certain amount.

I like it but I can't say I've read/ seen much of it since I don't even know where to start looking (in terms of the books)... But images on the other hand... #^^#

While I don't think I'd like graphic stuff, I do find myself drawn to both yaoi and yuri, though the only yaoi I've seen is a BL (i.e. focuses entirely on the emotional side of the relationship with only the briefest references to sex) anime called No. 6. Most of my yaoi/yuri ships are subtextual or are not from works in other genres. KawoShin, for example, is canon as far as I'm concerned, but I don't think anyone would call NGE in any of its incarnations (...except arguably the third Rebuild movie...) yaoi.

As long as any sexual things are only done with characters of legal age I like it yes. Very cute indeed hehe.

I haven't really been exposed to it, but I think I would like to check it out. Anyone have any on the web they would recommend?

I searched yaoi on google but it seems like they are underage. How do I know they aren't underage? Don't fancy watching a yaoi episode (assuming its got a storyline) and ending up with some sort of problem because they might be underage! Haha.

Oh and sorry if I am using the wrong terms, I am new to the manga world.

Edit: can anyone explain? I've searched what it is online and it seems like yaoi is considered porn and "boy love" is just a love story... Maybe anyone can clarify?

    @huehue:
yeah, u r right... yaoi is more homoerotic and what u r calling "boy love" is called "shōnen ai".

I love yaoi, my first ever yaoi I watched/read was Junjou Romantica! It was pretty hardcore for my first ever shot at the genre but I became obsessed instantly! I've always been into the more hardcore than soft, but I like both, but I love and hate the ones where they totally love each other but its just shounen ai so they never even kiss ._. I also liked the Tyrant Who Fell InLove, and anything by Nekota Yonezou and like a million more aha.

If you're just getting into the genre I'd start soft. I didn't and was fine with it but just start with something as simple as Recipe No Oujisama - super adorable! And if you want hardcore, go to something like Elektel Delusion or something by Nekota Yonezou before something like Junjou Romantica or The Tyrant Who Fell inLove because those are VERY HARDCORE aha. Oh and Nekota Yonezou, well, her way of drawing boners is beautiful it brings me to tears every time.

Ah, yaoi. I really like yaoi too much. ;_; My favourites mangas are Kasa no Shita, Futari and really any other Junko-sensei's yaoi and Honto Yajuu. And Running on Empty, even though it wasn't really yaoi and there never really was any kisses or anything, but still I'd say it's shounen-ai. And it was manhwa. Buuut yeah, you got the point. I really like anything from soft to hardcore, I think the characters and the 'plot' are most important to me. Sometimes though I only feel like reading really fluffy and cutesy stuff like Seven Days, which was suuper cute. :3 Oh, and I read doujinshis sometimes, mostly Ereri stuff.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned visual novels but they kinda go with anime and manga so here we go. I haven't really played any BL visual novels besides DRAMAtical Murder, which I loved too damn much for a porny yaoi game. (My avatar is Virus from the game.) Hoping for Sweet Pool to get patched soon, I've heard some... interesting things about it.

I like yaoi for both the cute stories and the sex... :3

I'm having trouble finding more though. Anyone know of any good ones?

I enjoy it, as long as it's in a more romantic context than sexual. I really enjoyed Gravitation.
