What - no auto-reverse on the cassette deck? Or, as I used to call it, Damn-it-I-recorded-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-tape-again?

    Nice.

My turntable actually isn't hooked up right now. The Wii crowded it off the entertainment center, and now it's back here in the office gathering dust. My 12" singles feel lonely.

My dad still has and uses a Pioneer sx-434 Amp / Tuner that he bought before I was born. He also bought a second one off Ebay. Ebay is also dangerous for my dad. He has bought a number of tube (valve) radios from Ebay. Right now there's only one AM station still broadcasting!

He also has a turntable and crates of records. My uncle was getting rid of his LP collection and my dad picked up some more.

He also has a circa 1986 CEC CD player which has absolutely no capability to withstand a shock. He bought it for $100 at the time.

We used to have a circa 1992 Technics stereo that was very nice, but our house was broken into and the amp and speakers were stolen. The tape deck lives on in my dad's stereo, replacing the old Sony deck that wore out. Insurance replaced it with a Pioneer but it's not as good.

As far as missing things, you're not missing much not having an 8-track. They're as bad as floppy disks. Good riddance!

we have a really old Marantz stereo system that doesn't work half the time. One of our TVs is a B&O from 1980 before my parents got married. It was the only thing that wasn't stolen when our old house got burgled, but that's probably because it weighs a ton!

I bet in 20 years time, we'll all be looking back at our PS3s and 360s and make fun of how 'old school they are'. :eusa_doh:

No worse than NES or Sega Genesis. Though I don't know if they'll be the cartridge blowing jokes.

Nice, I love Video Pinball! I don't have the standalone console but I have the Atari VCS/2600 cartridge. I've never played the standalone or the arcade version of the game so I'm not sure how if it differs much from the 2600 version but it is still a lot of fun. And yes it is beyond my generation.

Oh god, I remember when stereo systems used to take up the whole wall. The bigger it was the better.

Panda, you may be slipping into senility if you think Dark Side of the Moon is an album by the Moody Blues.

That must be one of those burned records with a half and half mix. I wish I had a record burner... Wait am I confusing this with what they did with Sinead O'Connor's albums?
