Katy Perry- I Kissed A Girl

    I'm sure this in some from was posted before but I'm wondering what people are thinking:

    I love the Katy Perry song "I Kissed A Girl". One of my lesbian friends says it just plays to stereotypes and makes money off of something she doesn't have a clue about. I don't know really what to think; all I know is the song has a catchy beat and that it is a humorous poke at stereotypes: like her other song: "Your So Gay".

    hey, it's a cute song with a catchy beat, and it softens up the straight world's attitude toward the idea of same sex attraction..I say a big yes!!
    I also happen to like her song "You're so gay", if you listen to it in the right context.

    My friends made a music video to "I Kissed a Girl". They just lipsynched along, it's quite funny though and I enjoyed watching it.

    It gets stuck in my head really easily but I like it so it's all good. I had it stuck in my head when I was in my dorm's basement with a bunch of junior high kids and I was singing it at the top of my lungs and they just stopped and stared at me. It was kinda funny to see their stunned faces.

    I loved the song at first, but now since they play it at least 5 times a day on the local radio station its getting kind of old..

    Me either, apart from the fact that they play it like a hundred times a day, her voice is so altered and fake. plus i get the feeling that shes go the whole "its not ok for guys to kiss guys but its cool for girls to kiss girls" thing goin on, but thats just me.

    I was on the billboard website yesterday, and this is the 6th week of that song being number 1 (beating "take a bow" by Rihanna {#2} and "forever" {#3} by Chris Brown), thus, making it "The Song of the Summer"

    I really like the song, but I don't listen to it as much as I used to. I think her entire CD is actually pretty good, and has a lot of potential if people give it a chance :thumbsup:
