    I grew up listening to lots of rock, jazz, blues and alternative music too, when i first had a car i used to listen to rock stations but now i listen to an internet radio station (as well as via local low power transmitter in auckland city, NZ) called kfmradio.co.nz;

    they play dub, downbeat, reggae, jazz and all with no advertising! their main slogan is something akin to "keeping it conscious",

    am wondering if there are any other radio stations around the world that are similar in their programming and general vibe?

    i also love kruder and dorfmeister (two DJs from Vienna) - great to chill out to (kfm plays them quite a bit although i've known of and listened to K & D for about 10 years now);

    am interested in your thoughts :slight_smile:

    I like Arecibo Radio's Touhou Tuesday.
    I think there are some TF2 podcasts out there, but I haven't listened in.
    Game radio channels and anime radio channels are things that make me a happy man.

    WILL (classical station)
    Progress on Sirius XM Radio
    And of course my beloved shortwave radio where I get to hear great programming like Radio Havanna and so forth

    I LOVE finding pirate stations...hard to locate these days with the advent of the internet

    I like listening to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Radio One and Two. CBC Radio One has a mix of programming. From news to talk/call-in shows to programming on culture, books/literature, the arts and music. Radio Two is mostly a classical music station.

    There's one station in Denver I listen to every Sunday night.

    Outside of that one, I like satellite radio - First Wave, Radio Classics, Classical Pops, 40s on 4, all sorts of stations.

    This is a good place for college and public radio, I listen to sevral ad-free stations:

    WAMU, 88.5, (NPR, Wsshington, DC)
    WYPR, 88.1 (NPR, Baltimore)
    WTMD, 89.7 (Towson Sate-college station-wide variety of indie music, along with specials on early R&B, soul, and has a great anything goes show called 'Weasel's Wild Weekend')
    WEAA, 88.9 (Morgan State University, some of the best jazz shows I've ever heard)
    WKHS, 90.5 (High School station from Worton, Maryland. Plays Philly's WXPN when school's out. A very diverse station, all in all)

    I have a long commute, and there's something about FM I enjoy, in that I don't have to pay to get it, or have any particularity expensive devices. And I like to hear new things; I'm always surprised by music new and old I've never heard but have come to love, not to mention some of the very good commentary shows)

    Public Radio (NPR, PRI, BBC) and Classical Radio (often public, as well, like BBC Radio 3 - especially their 320 kbps streaming channel)
