Listening to Muzak in the restaurant yesterday got me thinking.

I've never heard a female vocalist sing "Venus," the 1959 chart-topper by Frankie Avalon. What do you think of the idea?

Oh, that's a really neat idea! I've never really been a good singer, but I would love to hear a female vocalist sing this! Don't change any of the lyrics or anything, just sing it exactly as it is here.

I love hearing female vocalists take on songs that aren't thought of as songs for female singers, or even songs written exclusively for male singers! SweetPoffin's cover of "Hellfire" from Hunchback of Notre Dame gives me even more chills than the original: SweetPoffin - Hellfire Female Cover
