Hello my lovelies!!!! I'm looking at directing a musical for a show down here and I want it to be super gay!!! The way that this theatre does shows is they get a theme or something and then try to make a story out of a bunch of songs. Not a very complicated story mind you because the songs are the important thing. This is where YOU come in my pretties I need some songs which have a gay theme or could fit nice and snug into a gay umbrella theme. Songs I'm already using: "When you're good to Mama" (Well I HAD to include it somewhere didn't I?!?!?) from Chicago and "An Old Fashioned Love-story" from "The Wild Party" Also "I am what I am" from La Cage Aux Folles (MAde famous by Gloria Gaynor) See what I mean? This means so much. Thanks to everyone who helps. I'll let you know how it goes. -Mama- -XoXo-
Pretty much anything from RENT? Take Me or Leave Me - Maureen and Joanne (It's them breaking up) I'll Cover You - Angel and Collins (Love song between them) La Vie Boheme - Cast (Not specifically gay themed, but has gay moments)
My Way, by Frank Sinatra. That could be pretty gay if you think aboot it. EDIT: Oh, and I just thought "Nothing's gonna harm you" from Steven Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Barbra Streisand just MADE it gay.
Lovely Ladies - Les Miserables. Please put that in! XD Do it for me, sweetie ^_^ I don't know what else, actually. McAvity the Mystery Cat? You can't go wrong with Lola, by the Kinks, either ^_^ Good luck with it!
Gay songs...but keeping it somewhat clean, I take it? "Glad to Be Gay" - Tom Robinson Band (there's your downer song of the night) "Smalltown Boy" - Bronski Beat (there's your other one) "Johnny, Are You Queer?" - Josie Cotton "I Kissed a Girl" - Jill Sobule, or that other girl... "You're the Top" - Cole Porter (come on! How else to explain lines like "But if, baby, I'm the bottom, you're the top!"?) "It Ain't Necessarily So" - George & Ira Gershwin "Mint Car" - Cure (be careful with this one) Lex
if you just want LGBT, listen to the actual lyrics of "Lola" by The Kinks not exactly stereotypical gay or musical-oriented, but why not listen to it anyways?
