A quick search to this forum revealed no top gear thread.. So i figure.. Let's start one.. Top gear fans unite!!(&&&)
Me! One time I was tired, drifting in and out of sleep, I watched a funny episode. Jeremy Clarkson said something like "This is not a car for girls. You need a firm hand to change the gear. It's a REAL man's car!" and I couldn't stop laughing. I'm certain plenty girls that would kick him for that!
One day I shall sit ye down and tell you about the time Clarkson managed to offend every truck driver in Britain and the time they caused a diplomatic incident with Mexico.
Top Gear is fake. It is not a car show. It is a comedy show with cars. I freaking love it. Especialy the Top Gear Specials
Ha..!! Yeah the specials have always been amazing and i can't wait for the new special that will air next month!
I love Top Gear. Especially the challenges they have when the tree of them have to do something like when they built those motorhomes. But my favourite challenge must have been the one in Africa it was so ridiculous. And the off-road mobility scooters. And the car-boats.
Old as the hills, but still one of my favourite challenges - I prefer to look at it as tweed v hoodies myself.
ha.. this is also a funny episode.. don't forget the teenage car challenge and the reliant robin review.. it's freaking hilarious.. anyone currently watching the newest season 21? the old hot-hatch segment was brilliant and the alfa 4c and p1 review were gorgeous.. can't wait for next week's episode..
There is every reason under the sun why I shouldn't like Top Gear. I find their politics abhorrent; Clarkson's fawning over c-list celebs embarrassing; their scripted arguments tedious. I don't drive. I don't like cars. The whole thing is painfully contrived and after however many series it is now, it's wearing very thin. Which makes the fact that I watch it and enjoy it totally inexplicable.
I do, even when they do go too far. I think he offended people before when he said a roadster looked a bit "gay."
