I've been reading that many are interpreting Elsa from Frozen as queer. I can see it now, but didn't think about it when I saw the movie. Anyone else have an opinion?

The same was said about Merida from Brave and Mulan from her movie. I just see it as speculation. I've heard confirmed rumors that the shop/sauna owner is canonically gay--but who knows.

Well, the shopowner's kids was shown briefly, with another man, so its heavily implied. As for Elsa, her sexuality's never explored, so there's not really any way to tell.

Because Disney cannot show a strong female character with no love interest without immediately being seen as a lesbian. Aren't these the same people who complain that Disney princesses always have boyfriends and are never shown as independent?

Let's hope Disney changes that. Then again with Frozen, it's just "you're a strong independent woman who don't need no man" which is a nice change.

Honestly, I interpreted her as an Asexual.

For this, I'm going to rely back to my reply to an earlier thread about Frozen, and how Let It Go gave me LGBT vibes.
Hopefully this is Disney testing the waters for a future LGBT prince or princess. I've had these vibes from the last few Disney animated movies, actually. I think the world is ready for two princes/princesses.

In my opinion just because she doesn't fall in love in the show doesn't mean she isn't straight, or isn't interested in love for that matter.
In fact, I think that made the show nice - where romantic love is finally not part of the main plot. Romance is something you see in nearly every movie. To be honest, it's gotten old, and it's overrated.
