Gravity is brilliant! I was lucky enough to see it in IMAX which added to the experience!

And to answer your question: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

I just watched Dead Poets Society and it was pretty amazing.

I wouldn't say it's my favorite of all time but it's up there.

    Thirding that, Gravity was awesome.

I don't know really, I mean, I have loads of movies that I'd class as 'favourites' and probably will never stop loving, Apocalypse Now, The Shining, Easy Rider, Scott Pilgrim (my avatar gives that one away), The Blues Brothers, The Departed...just have a look at any of my answers on the 'Favourite Films?' threads, really.

Gravity was one of the worst movies I've seen, being visually awing doesn't stop the fact that it is about as dry as CPAC when it comes to dialogue, character development, or anything at all. People have such high emotional attachments to Sandra Bulloch and George Clooney that the director or writer didn't even bother developing a character out of either of them. They were both drones to me. Just because I know who they are doesn't mean I am going to insert a personality into them.

The movie just lacked so much, and I really didn't give a shit about Sandra while she was flying around. The fact I lacked any emotional attachment when it really takes nothing for me to feel for someone shows the movie was horribly scripted.

You can put as many flashing lights on a turd as you want, but it's still a turd.

Also how the hell did that space debris follow her in a perfect orbit around the earth? Was she not moving her position as she went from space station to space station, why were all the space stations all perfectly aligned in the path of the debris. It made no sense to me and I know nothing about physics.... maybe they just expected the majority of people to believe it.

I am actually currently obsessed with this movie because of it's high regard while still being a horrible film. Music videos are meant to sell you entirely on visuals, movies need a plot and script that has substance and wasn't thrown together in what appears to be a drunken all-nighter.

I saw "The Wind Rises", it was so beautful, tragic; then I went had binge-viewings of Studio Ghibli films. "Grave of the Fireflies" really struck me, I can easily say it's the saddest animated film I've ever seen, along with being the greatest.

"her", was my favorite of this year; if not the best, it's the most relevant and satiric.

I saw "The Great Beauty" a few months ago, I still haven't gotten over how good it was. And it inspired me to re-watch Fellini's "La Dolce Vita", one of my favorite films.

Lastly, I'm obssessed with "Dr. Strangelove: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb". Why? I'm always obsessed with it, it's Kubrick's most watchable, and second only to "2001: A Space Odyssey", which is a film quite hard to top.

Oh, and "Cabaret". (How did I forget Cabaret?)
