I have been playing piano for a year now, and was wondering if anyone had any idea's on what to play, or songs to check out?

What was the last song you played? I'm not sure what level of music to recommend.

Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas is good because there are many different levels of difficulty available.

I played Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 once, that was really fun and easy to get into.

If you are up for a challenge, the Downton Abbey theme is pretty hard. (But I'm not really a pro or anything).

Gravity by Sara Bareilles is interesting if for nothing more than the chords.

Spinning Song is super fun and lively.

    Fur Elise is overdone.

I don't know much about Piano, but there is a song called Hazakura by Kie Kitano. The piano intro is absolutely gorgeous, and I desperately want an instrumental of this song, but none seems to exist.
The lyrics are in Japanese, but if you found a liking to the song, I'd love to hear you playing it, if possible.

There are lots of popular songs that have beautiful intros, like Just Give Me A Reason by Pink, Same Love by Macklemore, Stay by Rihanna, Drops of Jupiter by Train, Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, just to name a few.

The intro to "Hundred" by The Fray is beautiful. I haven't figured out the rest of the song only because it's hard to hear the piano under the singing, but if you can, go for it.

Challenge yourself... Listen to anything by Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji, if you can try to play "In The Hothouse" That piece brims with seductive and voluptuous beauty.
