    Seriously, go watch it.

I'm pretty sure fox has creative control over the show now...that episode was layered thick with homophobia -.-'

I haven't been able to watch TV very often, but I'll be sure to catch it when I have the time.

Does Fox really have creative control over Family Guy now? That's a scary thought...

After this episode I stopped watching family guy.
I don't get it, American Dad which is from Seth McFarlande too is pro LGBT. They have gay couple, and they even done episode about gay couple adopting.

Right?! Seth MacFarlene tends to poke fun at gay people from time to time, but he's far from homophobic and he even supports same-sex marriage. If this episode is as terrible as it sounds, I don't think it was Seth's doing.

So I'm not the only one who thought it was homophobic as heck then?

The whole episode was about Peter trying to marry his son Christ for money, and it is chalked full of hits on gay marriage. Subtle little quips.

Oh no, seriously go watch this episode and listen very closely to what they say. They drag 'gay marriage' through the mud.

Most episodes of Family Guy aren't even written by Seth MacFarlane anymore, and he just provides voices. It's interesting that he still voiced it though because I'm aware he's very vocally supportive of Gay Rights and gay marriage.

I don't have the time to watch the video right now but I will say this: THIS IS FAMILY GUY. They offend EVERY minority! There's been plenty of "homophobic" things on the show before and you're only now getting bothered?

    I'm not surprised.

Family Guy tends to be dark for the sake of being dark. It isn't really trying to portray any kind of meaning or a deeper layer of a joke.

I feel this is more of a classic case of lazy writing than anything with malicious intent. The punchline of the joke is simply, "see how edgy, dark, and offensive we can be?" That probably went through the writers heads before anything else. It's why they constantly show Meg self-harming and attempting suicide without any kind of build up or relevancy behind it and pass it off as "dark humor". The writers write offensive material because it sells.

They probably aren't saying their views about gay marriage because they honestly don't care about much. They will say whatever they want to make their audience happy.

This video, though not focused on this episode of Family Guy explains probably the same thought process:

Don't mix up FOX and FOX News.

FOX also airs Glee. You know, a show with a shit ton of LGBT characters?

I was more bothered by all the incest and peter's new pedophilia. I know Pedophilia isn't a new thing to the series, but this episode seemed to be focused on it & Herbert wasn't even in it. Underneath the gigantic pile of bad writing was a good intention, but it got severely lost in the story of the episode
