You know what I'm talking about. This thread was coming like an express train on caffeine, and we both know it.

Frozen has made Idina Menzel even more popular (isn't that ironic, she first got popularity by playing a character that didn't want to have to do anything with being popular and now it's grown even more).

Wicked has been greenlit as a movie and is underway. (Haha, greenlit)

Not to mention it's simply a fantastic (or should I say wonderful) musical.

Thoughts on recent events? Casting? About it being a movie? Anything?

By the way, I'm totally up for any 101 discussion on Wicked, even if this thread crashes and burns.

Super excited! I love Wicked!!! I just hope they give Idina another chance to play Elphie. It also sounds like they are keeping it in musical form, which is good. Its a good story without the music but the music makes the show.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past them to give Idina the role of Elphie again. I've heard the argument that she'd be too old for it, but she did reprise it in London last year. However, with If/Then Musical, who's to say that's not going to end up as a huge success that she runs long as well? I'd love to see one of the other original Elphies get another chance.

Still hoping Kristin Bell gets Glinda.

God, I love this musical. :icon_bigg

I'm really excited for the movie, however I'm really hoping they don't mess it up. My family has discussed the possibility of a movie a lot over the years, and we always thought Lea Michele would end up getting cast as Elphie. I'm curious as to who's going to be in the cast.

I've never seen Wicked before, but if a Wicked movie comes out, I'm throwing all my money at it.
Idina Menzel was absolutely fabulous in Frozen, and I've heard nothing but good things about Wicked.

I saw it when I was little. One of only two Broadway plays I've been to. The seats were so far back I could barely see the play. I forget most of it now. All I have left is the CD...

I still have yet to see Rent. Although I'm kind of in your position, where anybody who mentions Idina Menzel will bring Elphie to my head :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Wicked is coming back to melbourne soon and I think our cast has some amazing Elphaba's.

In melbourne, every performance they had a raffle a few hours before the performances, you go there, put your name in, and if they draw your name you can have a front row seat for $30! I did it twice! They raffle off the WHOLE front row, and not many people turn up to the raffle, both times I went, there was almost a 100% chance of your name being called!

If Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth aren't Elphaba and Glinda, I will probably cry because I am in love with both of them, haha.

Same here. It just wouldn't be the same without them.

I really hope that they do cast the original cast for "Wicked", otherwise the movie won't be as epic.

We did Wicked in school last year. I was Nessa. It was so cool

A movie would be cool. But am I the only one who thinks it'd actually work really well as an animated movie? I mean a traditional 2D animated movie. It'd be brilliant. Especially the No Good Deed - Go and Hunt Her scene, and the first scene of Act 2.

I refuse to go see Wicked unless Idina reprises her role. Other than that...I'm afraid I'll just love it from afar :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
