I don't know if you are able to watch Eurovision song contest in America, but I see there are Europeans here...Why don't you post a video of the song you liked the most from any Eurovision...
    I'll start...

They say this singer is gay...I wish!

    Eurovision fan here!

There are loads of Eurovision songs I like, so I'll keep posting one or two each day.

If the UK commentator's comments for the semi-final are to be believed, Deen from Bosnia Herzegovina (2004) could be gay. "In The Disco" is not a brilliant song though, and it came 9th.

My favourite from that year was Malta's entry, "On Again Off Again" which came a disappointing 12th.

The UK's entry, James Fox (winner of Fame Academy), was OK but nothing special. (James is quite cute though). We came 16th.

Of course the winner that year (Ruslana, "Wild Dances") was more about the dancing and stage-show than the song....

Proof that to win Eurovision you need a gimmick or something different, rather than a good song.

He definitely is,but he is disgusting:confused:

    I liked that one too:eusa_danc

    He really is cute...:icon_redf

It's just a shame that it became a "country giving" contest, not a song contest...

After that, I started becoming a fan of Secret Garden. Go figure!

    Zeljko Joksimovic wrote the text...

    We would have won...:frowning2:

Actually I like this song too. It's a nice song. I think Zeljko also wrote the songs for Jelena Tomasevic, Jutro and Oro.

It's too bad that Serbia and Montenegro could not decide who to send in 2006.

    I like Oro as well.

Secret Garden was a clever winner. Avoid most of the language problems by entering a song that is mostly instrumental! Apparently the EBU changed the rules to avoid that in future.

It's interesting that both of you tend to prefer the dramatic ballads and slower songs. These seem to do less well, maybe because the words and message are important and most viewers don't understand them.

I tend to go for the more up-tempo songs where the language and words don't matter so much. Like this:

^^^nice song. For some reason Hero didn't do as well as it was predicted. I think some bookies had it in the top five. Secret Garden was bit of a surprise I think. But yes, it was clever.

One of the Eurovision up-tempo songs that I like is "One step out of time" by Michael Ball.

    Unfortunately,I don't know these old songs,because our TV didn't broadcast it until 2004(at least I don't know they were),but I like them...
Have you watched 50th anniversary of Eurovision?
Abba had it's triumph with Waterloo,I liked Johny Logan too(he was cute when he was young).

^^ Yes, that was one of our better efforts. We tend to do well when we have a famous and confident performer. Michael Ball came second to Linda Martin during Ireland's run of wins in the 90s.

A bit of a surprise IMO because it's the sort of dramatic ballad that many countries may not understand. It's sung in English though, which helps.

I think the UK did have some good entries over the years. Another UK entry that I liked (a ballad) was by Jessica Garlick.

The UK's least successful entry EVER! The talentless, off-tune Jemini who earned us a well deserved zero points. Even if they could sing, it was a lame song.

It wasn't our worst entry ever though. In my opinion that award goes to Love City Groove.

I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet but...

Is it any wonder I liked this? It's a very upbeat and happy song, and it cheered me right up. (I haven't looked up the actual lyrics, so it could mean anything. ^^)

He's actually quite cute without all the dressing up and makeup.
