    The plot sounded a bit offensive but after reading about it and watching the promos I'm going to give it a chance. The blonde girl, Amy, seems not-so-straight and that intrigues me a little. I will be watching with my skepticism on the sidelines.

    I'm gonna check this out too, I totally fell in love with Michael Willett when he played Tanner in that GBF movie so I'll watch for his character Shane... Liam looks cute too! :icon_bigg

    So, last night MTV premiered a TV show called Faking It about two female friends that are mistaken as lesbians at a super liberal high school located in Austin, Texas. The two main characters decide to pretend to be lesbians in order to increase their social status/popularity at the school (since it apparently flip flops the stereotypical standards of popularity in high schools).

    Has anyone heard about this show? Did anyone watch it? What are your thoughts? Is this making light of the hardships and complexities GSMs contend with on a daily basis (in the U.S. and around the world) by showing lesbianism as trendy? Or is it highlighting how complex sexuality really is, considering one of the main characters "faking it" starts discovering she actually does have "those" type of feelings for her close friend (like it often happens in real life)?

    I'm not sure how I feel about it yet but I plan on continuing to watch it to see.

    I really liked it... surprisingly. It was nice to see a high school that was so accepting of gay people. I found it to be positive and hope a lot of teens reinforce that message at their own schools. I'm still iffy on the faux lesbian couple but after they kissed you could definitely see Amy seemed a little confused about liking it so much. I will continue watching to see Amy's journey unfold. Based on first impressions, the show felt very South of Nowhere-ish to me.

    I was pretty apprehensive about it when I saw the promos, but I sat myself down and watched it. I actually really enjoyed it, I thought that it was really funny and pretty cute. I'm definitely going to be watching the next episode.
