Sexy Lamp. For those of you who don't know the term Sexy Lamp in film means a character, who must of the time is female, that does nothing and serves only to be a love interest and constantly needs saving or contributes nothing further to the plot. These characters are the exact opposite of the Strong Independent Woman characters who try and assert their independence through bad writing and bad acting. Yet still needs to be saved. The Strong Independent Woman characters most of the time do not pose as a love interest but still they serve no purpose to the plot (not saying these types of characters are bad but you don't make a character by saying what they aren't. Strong Independent Woman characters never really state what they are, they only say what they aren't). Example of a Strong Independent Woman (character): Andrea, The Walking Dead (T.V) Example of Sexy Lamp: Spider Man's girlfriend in The Amazing Spider Man I want to play a game (Jigsaw). Here is what I want to do. Post your biggest Sexy Lamp characters you know. An easy way to find a Sexy Lamp character is replace the character with a lamp and see how much the film changes. If the plot changes a little bit or not at all, you have a Sexy Lamp.
