I've always loved crime novel type things (I like CSI and all that), when I was finding new authors - many years ago (I was about 16/17) I came across Val McDermid. I started reading her books and liked her style. I was a bit shocked when reading one of her Lindsey Gordon stories - I'd never read anything that had lesbian sex in before! But I like it and I've now read them all.
