We're about a month into the season now, and no one has started a thread about baseball! I can't believe it. As you can see from my avatar, I'm a Cardinals fan and slightly disappointed in our performance thus far this year.

Anyone else excited or disappointed by how their team has been doing thus far? Remember, it's a long way to October and I always try and tell myself that game 1 counts just as much as game 162

I know nothing about baseball, but since FSG own Liverpool F.C. and the Boston Red Sox, go Red Sox. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Seattle fan here! Loooooove that we have Cano on the team. Found it ironic that the Yankee fans booed him when he went back to New York though. Really Yankees....you are going to get mad at him on selling out when thats how you get the majority of your players?

A loyal Orioles fan here! And Manny Machado just returned, probably the cutest player in baseball.

I was born in Detroit, so I also like The Tigers.

As much as I love to see my teams win, I love to see the evil, pompous, bratty NY Yankees lose.

@me123: I saw that incident with Cano. Really uncalled for. Typical obnoxious Yankees fans...not to mention, sore losers! They act like they can just spend their way to the top and when things go wrong, they're the biggest cry-babies!

My dad's family is Dodger fans and my mom's family is Angel fans, so I've grown up rooting for both teams. My other favorite teams are whoever's playing the Yankees, Red Sox, and Giants.

My team was the Expos so I've sworn off of baseball since 2005. I did go to those two spring training games in Montreal this year though -- what a fantastic experience. I never thought I'd have the opportunity to watch a game there again, nevermind with 50,000+ people in the building.

Ha! Another sensible person. I forgot about those pesky Red Sox. Not as bad as the Yankees, but clearly a team that needs to be defeated, repeatedly.

So, why does everyone seem to hate the Red Sox? :astonished:

Well, for starters they beat us in the World Series in 2004

Because after an incredible 12 year run of success (3 World Series, 3 Super Bowls, 1 NBA Championship, and 1 Stanley Cup) we (Boston fans in general, and Red Sox fans in particular) have become annoying and entitled as a group... like... gasp... Yankee fans:eek:. Personally, I blame it on all the kids :icon_wink - they don't realize this isn't going to last forever and can't remember all those years of losing.

By the way, RainbowMan, I still remember the class with which the Cardinals treated the Boston Fans in St Louis after the 2004 Series finished. You have the well deserved reputation as one of the very best group of fans in any sport in the country.

Well the thing that irritates me is the fact they can't spell "socks" correctly.

But that's coming from the son of an English teacher.

It's also coming from someone who knows nothing about baseball. Hmmm, is baseball the sport that has a big, round orange ball that people use to try and get "touch downs?"

I'm a Cardinals fan, and I think we'll pick it up here shortly and go on a tear.

My team is the Toronto Blue Jays. So far, I am not as surprised by how they are doing as I would like to be, but so far, they are not far out of first place in the AL east.
