There's a couple of albums I wanted to buy and it crossed my mind, do I download them now, or wait and buy a physical copy of the album?

Digital downloads have finally taken over physical discs and a lot of laptops have even stopped making disc drives. Making it pretty alarming if you like the physical CDs!

I know I'm young but I've never bought a physical album. iTunes all the way. I pretty much don't buy anything (music/movies/games) in physical format now.

I agree, it's more convenient to download now, especially since cloud storage is getting big. But that feeling of buying the CD, with the artwork and the little book inside!

It's just not the same. :frowning2:

Well, if it's an album I really, really want, I'll buy the CD. If I just want a few songs, I'll download.

I'm weird, I have to have the whole album, even if I only like one song! But then you might like the others, so it's worth it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My preference is for physical albums though I don't own many, since I haven't had the money for it recently, and even then it depends on the music. In general I rely on listening to stuff off the Internet, probably would download in the case of specific songs/works I enjoyed but didn't want to buy a whole album for.

Physical CDs all the way, they pretty much instantly go on iTunes, I just like being able to have a collection on my shelf, not to mention avoiding the prices iTunes like to sell albums at! I was amazed to see that it was cheaper to buy a cd rather than download it, having said that I don't know anyone who actually plays for their music anymore...

I tend to only like a few songs on an album, or just one song from a band, so it's not worth buying the CD for me.

I usually just buy a digital download and then burn it on to a CD. I would buy the physical CD, but if you order online it just takes too long to get and I'm impatient.

I have a record player, boombox that plays CD's and cassettes, an iPod, and an iPhone. I have more music on my iPod than my physical Records, CD's, and Cassettes combined, Yet i spend less money on digital music than i do on physical albums. I just convert my old music and put it on my iPod. If there's a new song i like and want, I'll get it from someone else and put that on it too. A few of the bands i like still make records, and i like to collect their CD's, so i still buy them.

Assuming you mean "pays"... I actually don't pirate mine and I think subscription services are dumb so I don't want to waste money on those (except Playstation Plus). My mum gives me a monthly budget that I can spend on whatever. If I didn't have any money then who knows but I don't think it's fair to the artist not to pay since I have the money to spend. Perhaps I'm just a tool like that.

I prefer physical CD's for the artwork and booklet, as well as the feeling of security that I own the music and that if my computer fries I will still be able to listen to these without having to rebuy/download anything.

Personally, I prefer the rich, warm sound of the vinyl LP...

Generally digital, but CD if it's an album I really really like already/a band I want to help support.

I go both ways. If I happen to be a store where they sell CD's and if I want some music, I'll buy a CD. If I'm at home and too lazy to run to a store, I'll download digitally. I collect vinyls for fun. I love the feeling of buying a CD though, but digital downloading is more convenient.
