Boy, I didn't think you'd do every game! (well everything but the knock-out bracket).

Perhaps I'll come back to that some other time, for now my pick for the winner is Brazil.

I didn't do the knockout bracket since I don't know what groups play each other, or if it's random.

Wow, absolutely no love for the US. I know, I know, group of death, yada yada, but I do think we will at least take one point (probably from Ghana). If I remember correctly from when the announcements were made the match locations (who we play in the Amazon)and timing (playing Germany after they have likely clinched the group) are somewhat favorable for us sneaking a point or three somewhere.

I do have one prediction... we will all be insisting that our team got totally screwed by the refs by the end of this thing.

Haha, fair enough. That just comes with football though.
It's entirely possible that the US could take some points, but I just can't see it happening. Ghana is their best chance really, but they have a cracking side, still a very tough game.

Have a great chance, especially with their home advantage. Though, their lack of as great striker is worrying.

I'm way too lazy to do predictions for every game so I'll just go straight for an outright winner prediction.

I think Italy will surprise everyone and win it. I think they've got one of the best managers around in Cesare Prandelli and the squad balance is rather spot on as well.

I also think Germany will win it. I'm not expecting Spain to be as dominant as in the previous WC and I think the pressure on Brazil might be too much. I'm also expecting Belgium and Uruguay to do pretty well.

You beat me to making a world cup thread Miiaaaaa . I love doing predictions so here are mine. I think the climate will play a big part and will greatly benefit the South Americans. Iv just done the final group tables for the group stages.

    Group A
Brazil (they should walk over this group)
    Mexico
    Croatia
    Cameroon

Group B Possibly the toughest group to call except for Australia
    Chile (they look quite good)
    Spain
    Netherlands
    Australia (unlucky Australia)

    Group C Tough to call
    Colombia
    Japan
    Ivory Coast
    Greece

    Group D
    Italy
England (I think we are good enough to get out of this group)
Uruguay (should be called Suarez instead of Uruguay)
    Costa Rica

    Group E
    France
    Switzerland
    Ecuador
    Honduras

    Group F
Argentina (such an easy group on paper, they should walk it)
    Bosnia-H
    Nigeria
    Iran

    Group G Interesting group
    Germany
    Portugal
    USA
    Ghana

    Group H Another close one
    Belgium
    Korea
    Russia
    Algeria

    Round of 16
    BRA 2-0 ESP
COL 0-1 ENG (why not haha)
    CHI 2-1 MEX
    ITA 2-1 JAP
    FRA 1-2 BOS
    GER 2-0 KOR
    ARG 3-1 SWI
    BEL 2-1 POR

    Quarter Finals
BRA 2-1 ENG (England leading 1-0 until the 85th minute)
    CHI 1-0 ITA
    BOS 0-3 GER
ARG 2-2 BEL (Argies win on penalties)

    Semi-Finals
    BRA 2-0 CHI
    GER 2-1 ARG

    Final
    BRA 3-2 GER

Even though Brazil will have a huge amount of pressure, I still think they will still win the world cup.

It will be interesting to see who gets the most predictions right haha.

To be fair, Edinson Cavani is not bad for a second striker

I can never really see past Spain for most tournaments. Brazil gave them a flattening in confeds, but I feel Spain's squad is head and shoulders above any other squad. Anything less than winning it and they've under performed.

Would love to see England win it of course (!)

Forgot about him and there's Forlan too. I still dont think they are that good but saying that they will probably beat England now haha.

Spain do have a very strong squad and will really want to win their group as coming second would put them against Brazil. Having Diego Costa playing will be a boost (if he is fit).

I think England are good enough to win the group but coming 2nd is more likely. I think our squad is actually quite good so I just hope they can perform.

    Uruguay have some cracking players...
    Godín, Gargano, Gaston Ramírez, Cáceres.
England on their day, could win the group. The squad is great on paper, but don't seem to work well. And Hodgson just isn't a good manager for England!

A lot of teams have cracking players.

But compare those four you named with the Spanish equivalent in their position

    Pique, Mata, David Silva, Ramos

Just doesn't compare. That said it's football. On a single 90 minute game, Uruguay could win, but about 8/10 times Spain wins in my opinion.

The reason I feel Spain edge Germany & Brazil is the forward lines:

Spain: Costa, Villa, Negredo, Llorente, Torres.
    Germany: Schurrle, Klose, Volland
    Brazil: Neymar, Fred, Jo, Hulk

I'd much prefer Spain over those two.

I feel Argentina's attack beats Spain's, but the defenses certainly don't.

Argentina attack: Aguero, Higuain, Messi, Lavezzi, Palacio, Di Santo

    Defenses:

Argentina: Fernandez, Garay, Demichelis, Zabaleta, Rojo, Basanta, Campagnaro, Otamendi, Lopez, Mercado

Spain: Carvajal, Ramos, Pique, Alba, Azplicueta, Juanfran, Martinez, Albiol, Moreno

You probably think I'm a Spain fan backing them to the hills. I'm really not, there's a bunch of other countries I'd like to see win. Especially England!

But when I make a prediction, I like to back it up with why I feel they have the advantage.

I suppose Germany are bringing a young squad, but still.
I think they'll edge Spain in the final.

My prediction is that Spain will win again. I just hope the USA can beat Ghana this time.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the England squad, provided Roy doesn't screw it up too much. It's a tough group, so if they get knocked out, I won't be surprised, but I think England's more than capable of advancing.

USA are going to have a tough time of it.
