Just finished watching this film. I sat down with not much expectation but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the acting and direction. While the film may be lacking in some respects and in certain scenes the emotion didn't carry through as well as it could have; all in all it was a leg up for a blockbuster quality movie. My rating, 3 and a half stars out of 5. (I am hard to please) Your thoughts? ------------------- NY Times : link Wikipedia : link IMDB : link SIDE NOTE: The film is rating R, but after watching the movie start from finish the only "objectionable" context was the occasional use of foul language, and offscreen sex. Also there is a very brief scene of drug use (marijuana). Which according to Canadian standards warrants a rating of 14A at the most.
My thoughts is that i thought it was a movie release of the book 'Shelter' about homelessness... I got my hopes up too much I'll give this a watch though, see what it's like.
It's a good movie but didn't really stand away from the other "Coming Out" Films. Still I'm just happy to see more and more gay films out there for me to watch secretly in my room.
I saw it last week... got it from the library. It was alright, but I don't know. I don't like watching LGBT dramas, just because they always make me cry. I watched Mambo Italiano yesterday, though. ^^ 'twas hilarious.
