I hope I'm posting on the right category. So, this is a twenty minute video that was recommended for me on YouTube. Here's how the story goes:

Ashley Curtis lives in a world where being gay/lesbian is normal, and straights are discriminated against. She has two moms, and lives in an all homosexual town. She also goes to church where she is told that heteros will go to hell. However, at a very young age, she begins to develop feelings for boys. She is told by a teacher this is just a phase and she will start getting girlfriends soon, but she knows that an urge to hold a boy's hand and feel his lips against hers is not just a phase...

Link to the video is right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnOJgDW0gPI&list=HL1401658053&feature=mh_lolz

Warning: This video contains bullying, cutting, and suicide. Do not click on this link if this is not your cup of tea.

I love this little short film. I think every single straight person (ally and homophobe alike) should watch it. It would really make them think.

I liked the video, but the sad thing about it is a lot of homophobes got angry over the "hetero discrimination" and use the video to validate their homophobia.

I wish the world was like this, just for a day or two, so heterosexual people could understand how we feel.

So, they didn't get the point the video was trying to make?

I've seen it, and I like it a lot. It's a powerful video.

I know a lot of people who have a problem with this video because they say that people should be able to sympathize with a gay character facing discrimination, and they shouldn't have to make the character straight for people to care. I understand what they mean, but still, I think that it's always easier to sympathize with characters that are a lot like you because then you can really easily picture yourself in their situation, so this video is a great way to show straight people what it's like.
