Hey guys, I just got back from watching FIIOS and it is an awesome movie. I went to the movie with a friend but she didn't like it as much as I did because she read the book and didn't think it matched up to the film therefore if you read the book you might not enjoy the movie as much. The movie starts out slow. It supposed to be a depressing movie - it's about cancer but I found myself laughing 80% of the time. I felt like crying a few times but I didn't because I refuse to cry in public. Overall, it was a very great film! The first part of the movie is slow to get going but the second part of the movie is really powerful! It is easily the best movie I have seen so far this year. Surprisingly, the main actor outshines the main actress in this movie. Shailene is a really great actress (she was phenomenal in Divergent) and I was expecting her acting to be the best part of this movie but the guy who plays Gus outshines her and it is very evident but not necessarily a bad thing. 4/5 stars! (!)
Ahhhh! I read the book, so I'll be prepared for the movie not holding 100% true. A little disappointing, but I'll go in with an open mind!
Please do go with an open mind because my friend read the book before and was so excited to see the film and she ended up disappointed. It's funny because I usually hate on all the movies we watch together and she loves them.
Everyone seem to be excited for this movie. There's this girl on facebook who posted a pic of her wearing an oxygen tank, 5 bucks she will be wearing it at the movie house.
Just about all of my friends except me have seen it. I might watch it during the holidays if it's still on or wait for the DVD release. But I've already listen to the soundtrack and it sounds so amazing. (!)
I saw it last night - completely awesome. I'd never read the book (I'm a bit out of the age range for both the book and the movie, but Ansel Elgort is CUTE!! ). How the OP got through the movie without shedding a tear (refusing to cry in public) is completely beyond me, though. I (and everyone else in the theater) found that impossible. In fact, some people were balling - I found that a bit over the top, but perhaps the story resonated personally with them.
i am gonna go see this movie soon.. i read the book and adored it .. i feel like ima be a giant cry baby during the movie, even if it isnt as good as the book.. lol
Great movie. Saw it with my sister and both of us were crying. We were both very emotional when it ended.
I saw the movie, it was one of the best movies I've seen in my life. It's pretty sad, but there are some funny parts that are going to make the movie a little easier to watch. Am I one of the few people that didn't felt like crying after watching it? Hey, I'm not cold hearted or anything. I just got able to hold my tears until I got back home and lied in my bed. I also noticed that my usually bad mood changed to a little happier one... I've been feeling happiness for a longer time than a used to in my life, but it seems like I became colder somehow... Did anyone started to feel/behave different after watching this movie?
I agree, the film is an awesome movie. Even though it didn't exactly match up yo the book, I would highly recommend seeing it!
