If it were erased from existence, I'd consider the world better off.

So sorry if you like it :S but I'll stick with old-style blues for "soul" music.

Eh, not for me. But then again I've been drawn to a number of different genres and I haven't listened that widely to hip-hop. Who knows, there's probably a couple of hip-hop songs out there I'd like.

Bit harsh argentwing, dontcha think?

Yes, it is actually :/. There's no reason hip hop is less valid than any other genre. But the way people have picked it up and run with it, it's led to Lil' Wayne and indirectly to Justin Bieber as he is now.

Yea only if it's from the 80s or 90s.

Nope, can't stand it. It's all just meaningless nonsense to me; with meanings sacrificed for the sake of rhyming. Same with rap, r&b, etc etc. I love old-school country music; it's what I was raised on! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'm perfectly fine with it as long as it's got an interesting beat that doesn't make my head hurt. But I don't typically listen to it on purpose, unless it's from the 80s or 90s.

Hip hop has been around for decades and if you think Hip hop is meaningless then you need to widen your horizon with this genre. Check out Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Outkast, Kendrick Lamar, Death Grips, Black Sheep, Arrested Development. You'll be surprised that there's more to these group rapping about "meaningless rhyme". Lauryn Hill's "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" wasn't nominated for 10 Grammy's for nothing.

hell yea, only recently got into it though. i think of you werent raised with it, being eased into the music is good then you start really loving and appreciating it.

Lol, I'm sorry if I hit a nerve.. that's just how it sounds to me. Telling me to check out certain artists isn't going to change my mind. That's why we have different music genres; not everyone can like the same thing or get the same thing out of it. My best friend hates strawberries, whereas I find them delicious. Doesn't mean I'd force her to eat them.

I'm not mad or anything, lol. I guess I'm just pretty passionate about this and you're right we all have different taste in music. But I'm only suggesting it not making you listen to them but if you give it a chance and you end up hating or disliking it, I'm fine with that:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:, and I do like some country music as well and have been a fan of Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, The Everly Brothers, Dixie Chicks, Willy Nelson, Reba McEntire etc. My dad is a fan of country music and I though I wasn't from the beginning, It let it grow on me:slight_smile:

Yeah I think this is true, it seems a lot of people are put off hip hop as a whole because of gangsta rap, they need to ease themselves into it. People should start with Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pharcyde before they get onto Nas, Kendrick, Outkast before they get onto Biggie, Wu Tang, Mobb Deep

A Tribe Called Quest - Check The Rhime
    The Pharcyde - Drop
    Nas - Memory Lane
Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt II

Yeah, I mean you can dislike it that's cool, but not for the reason bolded because that's not true, check links you'll see!

Nah for me... Little to none of actual music (atleast today, don't care enough to dig into 80s/90s hip hop). Overall gives me headache.

Yeah, but most of the hip hop I listen to is from the 80's and 90's.
