I was recently listening to the radio and this *horrible* song came on. The song starts with the singer explaining how she and her boyfriend carved their names in a tree and thought their love would be forever. Then she says they were wrong and that she hates him for leaving her and, for the rest of the song, yells that she has a chainsaw and is going to cut down the tree. I understand the metaphor but it didn't stop me from cracking up when she yelled "I've got a chainsaw!"
Take it from someone that had to listen to that and the same five other country songs over and over on the radio at work when I had to clean, it's fucking annoying, stupid, and hilarious. I don't like country music. And since the radio station at my work only replayed the same six songs over and over including that one, I hate country music now. It's all repetitive. It's either I hate my life, my bf/gf left me, family is great, ALCOHOOOOOLLLL, old times were better than now, blah, blah, blah, bullshit. I'm so glad they changed the radio station to classic hits and oldies at my work, at least there's a variety and good music.
I just listened to the song, and GOD DAMN, it's fuckin' terrible! Also, what did that poor tree ever do to her?
Country radio is ridiculously sexist tho lol The ladies in country music are writing more interesting songs because they can't get away with the drinking, partying, truck-driving songs men get away with but country radio rarely plays them.
