Hi guys ^_^ I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good anime series that are based on Yaoi? I know there are already quite a few anime threads going on right now, but I didn't want to hijack anyone's thread

I am so sorry to give you this news. It is one of the worst moments in the course of loving yaoi.
There are no good yaoi based animes.
I've never been able to find any.
The closest thing to yaoi anime would be Ouran, Hetalia, MAYBE black butler

    I like Descents of Darkness

Gundam Wing, if you count it. I know there's no official coupling, but I think there's a lot of hints and a lot of really popular pairings.

I would recommend Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, those are the two best ones that I've seen

I'm really surprised no one has recommended Loveless and Gravitation.

I haven't watched either, but they're both pretty popular. Maybe check them out if you haven't already?

I started watching something called DRAMAtical Murder* on Crunchyroll.
Personally, I find the subtitles incompetent for Crunchyroll. If a decent English dub is made (if a dub is made at all), I'll watch it.
I didn't realize it was based off of a gay H-game until a few days ago. Personally, gaymes (if you'll pardon the pun) aren't normally the kind of thing I go for, but the story so far is pretty interesting. I'll keep watching and see how things go.
    *Yep, that's how it's spelled.

So I found an anime called "No. 6", which is shounen-ai. I've only watched the first episode, but so far it's really good if anyone else wants to check it out ^_^

It seems harder than it should be to find good anime based around gay characters -.-

Yeah I agree, I think it probably has a lot to do with the publishers. There are many manga series focused on yaoi, shounen-ai, etc. but not many anime series, so I would assume that publishers don't particularly like putting their name on that sort of an anime, just because they see it as a "sensitive" subject. Not sure, but that's how it seems to me anyway :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

side note: I blew through 8 episodes of No. 6 last night, it is actually really good and I recommend it for anyone who is looking for shounen-ai. It is pretty light, but still a great story.

I enjoyed Gravitation. If you want something a bit further along than that, I'd recommend No Money(Okane ga Nai) It's really hard to find any really good yaoi anime.

    I will give No.6 a try!

I always thought Japan didn't care, yaoi and Shounen Ai are prominent manga genres, Sailor Moon had a lesbian couple and I believe Cardcaptor Sakura has a few gay/lesbian pairings too! I hope we get more animes with gay characters though, it's so weird that it's popular in manga but there's like no anime -.-

Yeah I'm not sure. They probably have their reasons though, another thought is maybe there isn't a large enough audience for it. I mean yaoi is mainly sold to girls, and I doubt a whole lot of guys (except us in the lgbt community!) would watch it. Just a thought, but I would assume action manga series would have a higher chance of publishing than romantic just due to a larger audience. And yes, definitely give No. 6 a try! I was very surprised with how well it has turned out so far. I blew through most of the episodes already! XD

I'd chime in and say Gravitation, I read the manga too and enjoyed it. Thanks for all the other suggestions, people that posted.

All of the Yaoi series I liked are the really filthy ones that you don't recommend to people.
