For the fans who watched Lucy Lawless on Xena, and then watched her in Spartacus could tell that she played two totally different kinds of characters. Lucy was allowed to play sexy in a more erotic way in Spartacus. My question to the fans of Xena would you have wanted them to make Xena more erotic. Have them show more nudity, and more erotic sex scenes. Do you think it would have changed Xena in a different way?

HELL NO. Xena is short of the opposite of what we consider "over sexualized imagery". She was strong, smart, and can match up to any guys that stepped up to her. basically the Wonder Woman. If Lucy Lawless was acting the same way she did on Spartacus with Xena, it would've never worked. i'd say in a way, it could've made society a bit more degrading to women. that's what made Xena unique in the first place really, she was more about fighting and constant inner turmoil rather then worry about her nails.

The focus on Xena never was on the erotic or nudity aspects.
It was more on heroic and human behavior. In my opinion.
So yea, it would have changed the show definitely cause it seems to me that Spartacus just conists of sex and blood.
Xena has way more aspects. And the time when it was produced was important for that I guess cause "back then" the focus wasn't on blood and sex as it is today somehow.
Aaand I gotta agree with Bolt35.

Oh, I totally agree with you two on it. It just came to my mind today that I believe Xena would have been totally different if they would have made it like Spartacus. I just wanted to get opinions.

No. I like that Xena wasn't a sexual show. I'm getting sick of the amount of nudity on tv. Not that I watch those types of shows all the time. It just feels like every popular show now is almost pornographic. I like it when a show is great without having "the nudity factor".

    Yea exactly!!
"Sex sells" is becoming more and more common these days....
If it's not already part of "normality"

I agree also, a show like this was better off without the focus on the nudity and erotic stuff! I grew up watching Xena, I'd watch with my family, I'd watch with my friends after school, and if they had done the show Spartacus style with all the nudity and sex scenes I probably wouldn't have been able to watch it at all. So I'm glad they kept it the way they did - we still had some steamy scenes throughout the series but they did just enough without going overboard.

I will say though that Lucy Lawless looked super sexy on Spartacus :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
