I need to get a music editing program for Mac with part of my student loan for school, soo I ask:

    Which is better?
    Which is cheaper?

Is there any other program you guys can suggest?

It depends mainly on how much you're going to do with it. I looked at both, but it ended up a few cheapy/freebie shareware programs (Goldwave, Audacity) do everything I need.

I assume if you're buying it with a student loan it's for school. What software is used by the school or fellow students?

As far as cheaper, try pricing around.

We're using protools in school, the registrar suggested "a music program" and did not specifically say protools, but I'm gonna ask the studio instuctors before i buy anything.

I would use protools, esp if the school uses it.
You can get a USB interface that comes with ProTools LE for $120.
I found it at Ken Stanton Music, I don't remember the name.

Sounds like Protools is the way to go, unless Logic in much better. Speaking from my engineering software experience, it is infinitely better if you have the exact same program at home as is used for course instruction.
