GAG: Gays against Gaga!

She's all right. It's all pop anyways.

Wow…she is a strong supporter of the LGBT+ community, and I don't understand why you would hate someone who is totally against hate :/ but, it's sad you feel that way but you're entitled to your opinion… I adore her she is a great individual, a supportive individual and an over all impacting character. So that's how I feel about Lady GaGa

 

I think shes okay.

 

Fair point although I do wonder how much of that is genuine vs done because it is profitable/edgy/fashionable.

Her predecessors like Madonna have typically had large gay fanbases, and large devoted fanbases = large amounts of concert/album sales. Its kind of chicken or the egg, does lady Gaga support gay rights because she has many gay fans, or did she support gay rights to get gay fans? Who knows.

In terms of her music, she seems to be pretty hit and miss from what I've heard. She does have some crackers here and there though, and certainly has some musical talent (she can play piano quite well for one thing).

She does come off a little pretentious when interviewed (desperately trying to come off as avant garde and intellectual), but she was fun to watch in Machete 2 and i must say I enjoyed the gory spectacle of the VMA awards when she feigned being shot, very dramatic performance! :lol:

 

dont hate her. Don't lke her music. Don't know her so I can't hate her.

Don't like how she is associated with gay people, not every gay person has shitty taste in music.

She also doesn't help my case by being for gay rights, she is weird, and very fem, she basically perpetuates stereotypes I'm fighting against all the time. It's ok to stand up for gay rights...etc, but when you become so associated with the gay community, I think it's your responsibility not to spread stereotypes. and she does.

 

Her music is neither here nor there for me, I don't follow her that much as a person so I couldn't say if she was good or bad.

 

I enjoy her music as much as I enjoy any other pop music. If anything, I find her music to have more substance than most others in the top 40.

That said. I really don't dig pop music. Sounds too much like a constant dance party

Look, I can get not liking her music. But that doesn't mean you have to be against her.

 

I'm not against her, but I don't appreciate her music, and I think she tries a little too hard to be different and eccentric.

So, not a fan. Nothing against her as a person though.

 

She used the t-slur and implied trans women were immoral.

Does it make me hate her altogether? No.
Does it make me lose some respect? Yes.

I liked her older music. Her newer music is OK. Don't really like it. But whatever, I guess. To each, their own.

 

She isn't a little pretentious. She is TOTALLY pretentious. I still like and respect her, but I admire her a lot less than I used to. She used to be very humble and genuine. Enough people told her that she's basically the Queen of the Universe that it finally got to her head. (She did break a lot of records and was declared Most Influential Woman at some point by a popular magazine, maybe Time? In a way I feel like the media did this to her, which is kind of sad.)

Even though I like Gaga, I think this GAG idea is funny.

 

I'm not against her, I really respect what she's done for the community. BUT pop, dance music etc is definitely not my cup of tea

 

I don't dislike her as a person, I simply don't like her music. I don't like any pop music really, I can listen to it, but not for long.
But yeah, don't like her music, no opinion on the person.

 

I don't like her music style much anymore and I like pop/dance music. I guess I haven't heard any of her really recent stuff but apparently it hasn't been good enough for me to hear it...

 

I like some of her music. I like the support she's shown for the LGBT community. I'm not a devoted fan by any means.
