Ok so me and fashion.... Umm what fashion? I am absolutely TERRIBLE when it comes to trying to look good and could do with a bit of help/inspiration. Currently I have 4 looks: 1. Casual where people will see me This consists of jeans and a tshirt (usually with a gaming logo on), a little bit of mascara/lippy and my walking boots 2. Work Suit trousers and a shirt and small black ankle boots. Basic make up 3. Casual and no one will see me Pajamers or simply nothing 4. Non causal but not work Jeans and a nice tshirts/shirt, boots or walking boots and fancy eye make up Yeah... So as you can see I'm veeeeery imaginative when it comes to "fashion"... NOT! If I had to describe my look and what I'm comfortable with it would be tomboy and/or soft dyke. Tips, tricks and general advise anyone? Images to have a look at/websites would be lovely. I don't want to loose my soft butch look, I just want to get inspiration for a bit more variety Thank you in advance! Until next time...
I could talk clothes all day. Is there *any* circumstance you'd wear a skirt? Would like military style shirts or trousers be good?
The *only* time I would wear a skirt or dress is if it was fairly tight fitting, longer and my knees and a very posh occasion. What do you mean by military style?
Best advice for the "fashion impared" -- Do your research on classical fashions. Pick one and accessorize/deaccessorize from there. Actually, it seems you have already done this by stating "jeans and Tshirt". You can pretty much make anything work with that. I would have some nice, clean, print-free Tshirts though, for doing business or meeting people. Logo Tshirts are for home, the mall, parties, or just hanging out with friends. You might also have some nice, clean, solid color or wide striped polo shirts you can wear for semi-formal occasions, or going out to dinner. Have three different jackets to go over your shirt--one for class, one for fun, one for casual-formal. At least three pairs of footwear would also work (depending on your taste and need for the type of shoes)--athletic, boot, boat/deck shoe. Might also be in your best interest to have one pair of classy formal slip on's. One trick to wearing jeans in formal or semi-formal situations, is the shoes. Wearing a pair of nice, clean, shiny or suede slip on can make jeans and Tshirt acceptable in some cases.....as long as you have nice, clean jeans on, with no rips, tears, or holes.
okay on skirts umm - like khaki or gray, let me see if i can find pix like some of these:Amazon.com: military style - Tops & Tees / Clothing: Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry the ones with epalettes and stuff
That's incredible advise! Thank you so much! I love the idea of using shoes to make the outfits more or less casual/formal. I really do need to invest in some "cleaner" jeans and shows for casual-formal occasions. (*hug*) Starfleet - some of that was lovely. I do like waist coats over my shirts and the jumpers are good. Plus those Khaki trousers look amazing for a proper casual event with mates! Thank you so much, Amazon is a good plan... Roll on the end of the month and my next pay packet lol (*hug*)
You are quite welcome. (*hug*) I figured a picture is worth 1000 words. I window shop on Amazon every day. You'll log off before i get tired of talking clothes.
I often find that charity shops are a good place to find stuff which feels "me". Generally 'mainstream fashion' just doesn't fit the bill. Oh I don't know, I think I could learn a lot from you and your fashion knowledge, considering I have zero, before I log off lol
Everypony comes to Starfleet! Seriously, tho. Anytime, I love talking clothes, games, all kinds of stuf.
Hey I'm serious! You could actually be my fashion guru! The complete goddess of my closet soft butch style!
Defiantly, I think it's about time I was able to get something a little closer to "fashion" and you seem like the very pony to coach me!
The colour wheel... I'm normal in the blue/brown/black section... Maybe it is time I got some more colours out. Thank you
