Classic Literature?

Discussion in 'Entertainment and Technology' started by BecomingEllie, Nov 9, 2014.

  1. Anyone like reading classics? I'm a pretty big fan, still have a lot to read, though.

Some of my favorites are probably Of Mice and Men, and To Kill a Mockingbird. What about all of you?

I really enjoyed Wuthering Height, Jane Eyre too actually I'm in love with the sister Bronte.I also love Edgar Allan Poe especially The tell tale heart, and talking about Steinberk Grape of wrath is a masterpiece. I also really like Madame Bovary!!
Thank you for reminding me about how much I lied to read before studies started...

  3. You ever read 1984? Definitely one of my all-time favorites.

Yes I have! It is a master piece but not my type of book though. I mean i like the way he critize the society, with big brother and the thought police but first of all I dont get the end and It is too slow or narrative but there is something about it that didnt accroch me.

I enjoyed Of Mice and Men when I was a school as it was though provoking and I could identify with most of the characters.

I've read Jane Eyre and found that it was a little to slow for my tastes

Yes, most of what I've read have been old books. Currently reading Dostoevsky's The Idiot. You should read his Crime And Punishment first. It's very good.

I love Russian literature like Dostoevskij and Tolstoy. I read literature of all the world and I couldn't live without reading. Moby Dick is my favourite book. I also like ancient literature, i.e. Aristofane, Euripide, Plato and Seneca.

To Kill A Mockingbird isn't too bad actually, but that is the only classic book I have truly read, I prefer teenage fiction. :s
