I don't know if I'm going to get shit on over this, but the only LGBT themed movie I've watched is "Blue Is The Warmest Color."

And the reason I say I'd get shit over that is because of people saying the lesbian sex scenes were unrealistic. Personally, I skipped the one big one (only measured the time of where it started and where it ended to clock it. Apparently it is almost seven minutes long). And I skipped it because, despite not being what you would call a prude, I feel uncomfortable with extended exposure to people having sex in movies. Maybe it's me imagining people I know in real life doing it or maybe it's just that I feel it to be a private thing that shouldn't be broadcast. Sure, acknowledge it, but don't show it right up in our faces. Also, this is EXACTLY why I don't watch porn of any type.

So, in short, "Blue Is The Warmest Color" is good......if you skip the sex scenes.

I looooved Eloise (a french movie ... I'm crushing on the actress), Kiss Me (freida <3) , Lost and Delirious (Piper Parabo <3) , But I'm a cheerleader is hilarious!! , Itty bitty titty comittee  , I LOVED D.E.B.S as well , I can't think straight (Lisa Ray <3) , and a lot more.

I Can't Think Straight, Lost and Delirious, and Imagine Me and You are probably the only decent lesbian movies out there. Majority of lesbian movies out there have terrible story lines with bad actors.

I haven't seen any gay movies but I am absolutely in love with Blue is The Warmest Color. It explores the social stigma surrounding teens and their decisions regarding their sexuality. That's partially why I like the show Faking It too.

Haven't seen Faking It, but I hear mixed things about it.

I do agree with you about BItWC, though. I just thought that the almost porn-like way in which the one long sex scene was shot kinda undermined the deeper meaning of the entire movie. If I were in the director's shoes, I would've shot that a lot differently than it appeared in the movie. And probably a lot more tastefully, too.

Maybe not a gay film as such, but I'm really looking forward to "the Imitation Game", particularly as Alan Turing is a hero of mine ^^ And of course Benedict Cumberbatch...

Prayers For Bobby was surprisingly excellent but The Birdcage is my favorite.

I recommend in no particular order:

    Beautiful Thing
    The Birdcage
To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything
    Transamerica
    Soldiers Girl
    Milk
    Priscilla Queen of the Desert
    Latter Days
    Rocky Horror Picture Show
    Mysterious Skin
A Home at The End of The World
Prayers for Bobby ( I do not get emotional at many films - but this nearly broke me - a truly great film though)
