Lesbians Considered "Sexy," Gay Men Considered "Gross"

As the above poster said, women are overly sexualized, and men(okay not ALL, but most) are perverts who like the thought of two girls, I doubt most straight guys would find two guys sexy?

 

I hear this a lot, here and in other places, and it gets tiring.

Sorry, but it depends on the person.

If we are talking entertainers, then some gay actors are/were far from gross. Case in point: Rock Hudson.

Before Rock Hudson had to come out because of his illness, I'm almost sure he was the object of a lot of man crushes, the term used when ALL guys, included straight ones, have an inexplicable attraction to a male celebrity or sports figure who is presumed to be straight and who happens to be very good looking.

So, did these man crushes plummet when Rock Hudson's sexual proclivities were revealed? Nothing about Rock Hudson changed. The only thing that changed was what he did in the sack.

Sure, there's the two for the price of one mindset for lesbian porn. For that matter, some straight women watch gay male porn for the same reason. I don't get this, but that's ok.

 

That's because for the straight males that dominate a lot of the media industry, girl on girl is hot but having two guys together just can't happen in their eyes. Apparently a guy that doesn't want to be with a woman is unnatural.

 

It's because the media loves females, who have become the face of fashion and all.
And most of the media are straight men (I think) who are just plain perverts.
Or are just huge homophobes.

 

I think that it's in part due to the idea that homoerotic material is somehow inherently "feminine". Guys see women call each other cute, hug each other ect. and seem to think that means they're bisexual (which is pathetic, and just shows how some guys can't seem to think about anything other than sex...) Therefore, they think anything other than a straight relationship is "feminine", and anything related to femininity is looked down upon unless it's being shown / represented by a woman.

 

Well, while most straight guys like watching 2 girls, but most of them dont like seeing 2 guys, the same doesnt happen simetrically with straight women. Most straight women neither like seeing 2 women together nor 2 men. This means that something like a 43-47% of society Likes seeing 2 women, while nearly a 93-97% of society doesnt likes watching 2 men... Also in the case of men, they usualy are more visual than women in terms of sexual attraction, so watching an attractive woman with another attractive woman = (attractive women)^2, the same happens backwards with 2 men. Sum all those numbers, add to that how the sexual part of media focus more on straight men and BAM you have a society where 2 women is majorly considered nice, while 2 men considered gross.

 

(let me preface this by saying that the friend i'm talking about has nothing against gay people or anything like that although we do live in an area where that kind of attitude is prevalent)

My friend said this the other day when a group of girls were laughing and being ridiculously cuddly on the gym court and my friend was like:

"Ok look at this, girls can do the gayest things and still be considered straight but then two guys hang out and it's like 'GAY!!!!!'" and then I followed it up with "Not that there's anything wrong with that" because it's like a running gag between us.

I think this is like when you like other men people see that as you losing manhood but then in their eyes girls don't have anything to lose so it's like ok for them to be doing whatever. Not saying any of this is good tho.

This gay guy I met said that he had a few women harass him and some said they can turn him , so it's becoming equalized and men are the only gender that can be sexist :dry:

 

Quoting my 11yo cousin, after he's seen the show 'farmer seeks wife' featuring as well a gay farmer and a lesbian farmer: "Well, I can understand how two guys can be gay for each other, but two women, yuckie."
I doubt he thought anything sexual by this, though, and just parrotted what he heard his mum say before ("gay guys are sooo cute").
