    Pretty straight forward.

Does anybody have any favorite Christmas specials, or Christmas-related movies, that they really enjoy, or even watch during this time of the year?

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo... What? It came out around christmas! And the last scene is on christmas, which is as much christmas as I can digest in my movies. There's a lot of snow too. I say it counts

Everything? I am seriously a Christmas nut, I watch Christmas movies all year round. I don't have a particular favourite, although if I had to chose it would be Elf (because Zooey Deschanel) or The Most Wonderful Time of Year.

I can't choose just one, myself. I have a few choices, actually.

    Gremlins (1984):
Many people remember this film, as being about reptilian-looking creatures, causing pandemonium and chaos, in a small town. They often don't know, or they forget, it takes place during Christmas. This movie is a grand example of a black comedy, because it goes all over the place, going back and forth, between being funny to being wicked. The "bar scene" is my favorite scene, in the entire film. It's just... an epic party of mega madness.

    The Little Drummer Boy (1968):
A more formal entry. The Little Drummer Boy, named Aaron, has a pretty rough life. His parents are killed by bandits, his house burned to the ground, and he's forced into a circus-like lifestyle. He dislikes humanity, because of these experiences, but comes to care for some animal companions. The ending, which is based on the song of the same name, is a touching moment, even though I don't consider myself very religious. It's one of those classic stop-animation Christmas specials, too, which gives it a certain nostalgic charm.

    The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993):
A semi-formal entry. Some consider this a Halloween film, which I can see, but it has always been a Christmas film, to me. I'm sure many people already know about this movie, but to those who don't, it's about Jack Skellington, a resident of a Halloween-based world, who seeks more in life, as opposed to just accepting a non-stop Halloween celebration. He stumbles across a mysterious place, with all sorts of doors, and comes into contact with a Christmas-based world, inside one of these doors... and you see Halloween and Christmas come together. Also, I love the song "What's This?", sung by Jack, shortly after arriving in Christmas Town.

It's so hard to choose! "Elf", "The Grinch", "A Christmas Carol" and "Myracle on 34th street" will always be very dear to me.

Every year I watch While You Were Sleeping and The Holiday. Last year I watched Love Actually for the first time and now that one's on my list too.

I'm also a sucker for ABC Family's Christmas movies.

    Depends on my mood...

No movie that I must see every year, however.

One of my favorites is The Ref. Probably not as well known as other movies. The basic plot is that a married couple is always fighting. A burglar takes them hostage just as family (with plenty of dysfunction) is about to descend for Christmas...

I like A Christmas Story, although what I think I like isn't the Christmas part--it's partly the imaginary life of Ralphie, and also the way it's set in a different era. Although this movie does have a bit of personal sadness: I'm pretty sure I saw it the first time the last Christmas my mother was alive...

Fun fact: the movie has the nice, warm, fuzzy family quality...but it was directed by Bob Clark, who also directed Porky's.

    I also like Bad Santa.

I can never decide on a favorite. Here's some I like

Elf - (A lot of people enjoy it, and I do too! Hilarious)
Unaccompanied Minors - (Although it's not popular, I still love it)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - (Classic Christmas movie. Funny every time!)

Eloise at Christmastime: The go-to Christmas movie in my house. We watch it every night for a week before Christmas.

Love Actually is another. I'm beside myself with all the emotions this movie makes me feel.

Honestly I'm a hopeless holiday junkie, but those are at the very top of my obscenely long list.
