It's got John Boyega, the original cast, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o, Max von Sydow, the writer of Empire Strikes Back, and (judging from this teaser at least) is going to look amazing.

Damn right I'm excited for it. Also, did anyone else get a shiver when the original theme started blaring and the Falcon flew across the screen?

I think the movie will be great, but it didn't feel like Star Wars. They made a big deal about how awesome the ships were with their atmospheric effects and the lightsaber with the "light-quillions" which I have a hard time dealing with but the whole thing looked like an exercise in special effects. It didn't tell us the very first thing about what was actually happening.

I also hope they don't make it too gritty. Star Wars has its sober features but ultimately it's fanciful by nature; trying to make it realistic will lead us to a Mass Effect movie with X Wings. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Do you actually realise a 'teaser' trailer is not meant to reveal any plot... :bang:

It was hardly a massive exercise in special effects. Yes they are going to be in there but it certainly has more of a feel of the originals than the rubbish prequels.

Someone showed me this yesterday... Was going under the assumption it was some kind of a fan made video, as a joke. I'm quite disappointed to realize that it's actually the real deal. Also, over the top "low" at the end didn't help much, to strengthen my belief that this is actually something real.

Cautiously optimistic. It does look nearer the originals than the prequels, which has to be a good thing. I still find the modern CGI Millennium Falcon a bit jarring but I'm sure I will get used to it!

I'm wary of it. Not impressed.

While watching I had a flashback to when I was 8 and I watched Star Wars for the first time.

Not too much surprises here, they put all the classic star wars imagery they could fit in there. Stormtroopers: check, lightsabers: check, millenium falcon: check. Basically what this tells me is...... its a star wars movie

Well its a start I guess ^_^ I'm still not sure why they needed the entire original cast back for this though.

    INCREDIBLYYY EXCITED!!!!

The moment the star wars theme started playing I remembered why this is my favorite franchise of all. Nothing fills me with wonder & excitement like Star Wars.

That said I feel like the teaser could have been better...they could've had a glimpse of the Leia, Luke, Han, Chewy. Could've been more nostalgia inducing.

But it feels like they wanna focus on the new stuff...which is actually promising anyway as they have faith the new characters can hold the movie.

    Doesn't beat this teaser though...

Ummm...why was there a soccer ball with a droid's head?
Anybody want to shed some light on that...

What's to shed? A new type of droid - you weren't expecting everything to be R2D2/C3PO style were you?

The lightsaber of the Bad Guy is so odd  How can he even use it?! I mean it seems incredibly uncomfortable and danger; seariously, cool the medieval style, but I always thought the lightsber as a Katana not a sword. I always thought Jedi were inspired from orientals knights (samurai maybe) not medieval ones.

Beside that, I actually think that the new Star Wars would be as the new Star Trek, cool but inconsistent, I'll watch it in the Cinema, I'll ejoy it a lot and then forget it after a week.

When I first heard that they were making another movie and saw some photos from it, I was pretty excited. That is, until I saw the trailer… It doesn't look good to me. I'm trying to be optimistic with this, but I probably won't see the film the when I comes out. I much rather see the original films.

    I'm actually kinda excited.

Jurassic World, on the other hand...

And even if the movie ends up being crap, it'll still be better than the prequels.
