Alphabetical order. Hopefully those are all 2014. I didn't double-check. Most of the awesome stuff I've heard this year was released in previous years. I'm personally disappointed by the 2014 releases of 1349, Centinex, HammerFall, Obituary, and Vesania. These guys can do so much better! Although, overall, it's been a great year for music. I haven't heard The Satanist by Behemoth! Something tells me I'm missing out.

Just one song really stuck out. Well... There were others but:

I Don't Fuck With You by Big Sean ft. El

    That's my jam.

Gakidou (80's gothic/vKei band)'s newest album. A lot of it is even better than some of their old stuff.

2014 wasn't a good year for music to me, in fact I don't like most music from this decade. But I am eternally biased towards 80's and 90's music so, yeah.

You are totally missing out on the new Behemoth! I haven't heard the new 1349 yet, but I'm seeing them with Origin in February. Great list man!

"Howl" by Mighty Oaks. Though I prefer the songs from the album in a live setting over studio. Folk is usually best played live.

Bodies EP by Celia Pavey. I was enchanted instantly the first time I heard this wonderful girl sing, with this EP I was yet again surprised by her transcendence.

Cheek to Cheek by Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett was a pleasant surprise I must say.

This is one of my favourites of the year, my go to song surely:

There are loads of others but I can't be bothered to write any more atm.

Agreed on 2014. It's hard to think of many things that really struck me on an emotional, memorable level. In fact, the only ones that came to mind were all from 2013: Courtney Barnett, The National, Shovels and Rope. It's weird, but I'm hard-pressed to think of anything indie or otherwise in 2014 that didn't sound overly rehashed, tired, flat and relentlessly derivative, though there must be something! And I have very eclectic tastes, so this is unusual...

    AGREE! sooo good.

I've recently gotten into House/Trance music, been listening to a lot of Cosmic Gate and Andrew Rayel. It's a huge change from the 00's RnB I used to (almost exclusively) listen to lol...

Of the bands I follow only 5 new albums came out (that I can remember). All 5 are excellent actually with no disappointments so that makes 2014 a pretty good year in music for me. In no particular order:

    Eluveitie - Origins
    Sonata Arctica - Pariah's Child
    Equilibrium - Erdentempel
    Falconer - Black Moon Rising
    Epica - The Quantum Enigma

Tori Amos - Unrepentant Geraldine is the only whole album I liked this year.

Kylie Minogue's Kiss Me Once has some okay songs but not best of Kylie. Still it is better than her new albums. After hearing Abbey Road Sessions I was really expecting something more serious/impressive from Kylie... not an album with Sex Sells written all over.

Other than those two Indila had some songs I liked but never listened her album.

Also this song and video... it makes me smile everytime I listen.
