Hey, do you folks want to post your favorite music from the baroque period?

One of my life dreams is to have a harpsichord :3

Anyways, I want to grace you all with this Karl Ritcher

The second movement is something you should pretend didn't happen.

    Yaaaaaaaaas, this is my threadddddddddddddddd!

Late Baroque music/Rococo (early Classical period) is my all-time favorite genre of music. The majority of my favorite composers come from that period: J.S. Bach and his sons W.F. and C.P.E., the Graun brothers, Graupner, Fasch, Zelenka, Telemann, Vivaldi, Locatelli, early Haydn and Boccherini, the Benda brothers, F.X. Richter, Leclair, Tartini...WAY too many to list. I have way too many favorite pieces to even begin to list, although I will post my favorite recording/performance of the above piece.

I absolutely adore baroque music, especially Bach.
My favourites would probablly be the St. Matthew Passion (especially 'Erbarme diche'),
the Goldberg variations, and The Art of Fugue.

I play the classical guitar and really love this passacaglia by Weiss which I played for an exam a few years ago.
One of my goals is to learn to play the lute.

One of my (many) favorites from the period:
Alessandro Scarlatti's "Il Giardino d'Amore" (Venere e Adone), discovered in Anne Rice's "Cry to Heaven" novel

Can't think of a specific work to post just now, pre-Classical is a weak spot..., but definitely hope to participate in this thread more. Have enjoyed some of the usual suspects like J. S. Bach, Vivaldi, Purcell and want to get more into Zelenka, Telemann, W. F. Bach, C. P. E. Bach and others.

The Baroque Period is one of my favourites period in classical music. Bach's concertos, including the Brandenburg Concertos are definitely nice;although my favourite composer from the period is Handel.

Thought I'd try reviving this thread. Continuing with my Baroque kick and have started revisiting W. F. Bach's work today, but disappointed how (relatively) few high quality, period performance videos there are in comparison with other composers on YT. :frowning2:

Trust there's better luck with CPE... Regardless, right now am listening to:

Risked falling off the wagon, but have been returning to it again within the last couple days. Trying to focus more on CPE Bach especially who I'm slowly warming up to quite a bit. Current piece:

I don't think I will ever get sick of listening to/playing Bach's Chaconne in D minor. It is perfection:
