I absolutely love to learn, so one of my favourite things is finding new and interesting documentaries to watch  my absolute staples are anything by Michael Moore and the Zeitgeist movies.
    What are your favourites?

I love the 30 for 30 series by ESPN. Some great films in there. My personal favorite is Pony Excess.

    My favourites are also:
    - Michael Moore
    - Louis Theroux
    - Nick Broomfield

they all have the knack of holding the camera on the subject and watch the subject dig themselves in to a deeper and deeper hole

Louis Theroux had the camera on Jimmy Savile once. A shame more people in the 'establishment' didn't watch and wonder.

    I love documentaries. ALL documentaries.

I find it best to never stay focused on one or two film makers. Every person who puts together a documentary, and I mean EVERY person does it with an agenda of some sort. Because of this, I usually always find ( or at least try) to find films of opposing views. This doesn't always work, but I watch documentaries to learn more about the big picture not just one persons point of view on it.

As for Michael Moore, I have trouble with his stuff because of the book "rivethead" I had to read it in college long before he started making films and even then it was pretty clear that he had an agenda that would provide him a fair number of sheep.

Netflix has a nice assortment of great documentaries.

    "small town gay bar'
    "we were there"
I could go on and on........

I am left amazed at how beautiful this car is, even if it is highly impractical. It is nice to see how much precision is put into making it, as compared to how a Lamborghini is made. Cannot remember the link for that documentary, but remember that they were quite sloppy in the work process.

A Night to Remember: the most accurate film about the sinking of the Titanic. Though it's not made like a documentary, it gets the facts and points across quite successfully. There is no made up story in this film (Unlike the film "Titanic") This film depicts truly what happened. It's considered a Docudrama.

"Jiro Dreams of Sushi" is perhaps my favourite documentary  I also recently watched "Particle Fever", which was really good.

If you like Michael Moore I'd watch this, because he is very biased and twists the truth.

This Film Is Not Rated ; very interesting doc on how we rate movies

Want to watch some non-biased, awesome film making? Watch the Passionate Eye or Doc Zone or the Fifth Estate, all produced by CBC, endless topics, I really like how it's put together. I really commend Canada for it's comprehensive doc making

Just google or youtube Passionate Eye Full Episodes, Doc Zone full episodes or Fifth Estate full episodes and take your pick

Haven't seen doc making like this before

Don't watch VICE, VICE IS BIASED AND HIPSTER BEYOND BELIEF.

Also search Journeyman PIctures on youtube if you are interested in geographic and social docs.

Oh and anything by the BBC, I'm a total BBC sheep. Planet Earth gives me a boner, and Human Planet

I would make everyone on earth watch Human Planet if I could. It's a very emotional, and awe-inspiring doc series. This shit gives me good nightmares

I prefer the crime documentaries such as the Josef Fritzl case which is kinda well known and how he abused his daughter in the secret cellar which caused the birth of seven children. :

The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off. This could be difficult to watch because it can be too graphic but it's a really interesting documentary about a guy named Johnny Kennedy who has a rare genetic disorder who despite this, have a positive outlook on accepting his death. He's a really funny man too.

I like most. Since I haven't seen them mentioned yet; I am one of those people who enjoyed The Inconvenient Truth when it came out. Also, I like anything by Morgan Spurlock. There is something about his movies that I have always found very entertaining. His include Super Size Me, The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, Mansome, and A Brony Tale. Though admittedly, I am not interested in Bronies. I just like his work, lol. I always look forward to his new projects.
