All about that death metal and sludge, but have really been getting into noise and ambient lately, like Merzbow and Sunn O))). Interesting stuff.

Usually pop, but there are exceptions. I hate some pop songs and I love certain songs that fall into different categories.

Music is my life. Trying to pick a single genre as my favorite is just not possible. Every genre has its place. For me, music is expression, so whatever I'm listening to at any given time is usually tied in with what I'm feeling at that moment. People are always dumbfounded when they look over my playlists and such. There's everything from indie and disco to trip hop and bhangra to classic rock and reggae to bluegrass and classical to folk and trance and so on. You get the idea. And language barriers don't really matter to me. I speak enough languages that it doesn't really matter to begin with, but even if I don't Chinese, I still love some C-pop. World Music for the win.

Honestly, the easier question would be...what kind of music do I not like. That's so much easier. And really, it has nothing to do with genre at all. As much as I love to go all gangster and pound out to so rap and hip hop...I really am not a fan of the vulgar lyrics that come with a lot of the songs in those genres, sadly. If you're going to sing about doing the nasty...at least do so in a tasteful manner.

But yeah. Anyone who knows me, knows that music is totally my thing. And I LOVE giving out recommendations.

Grindcore isn't a sub-genre that I'm terribly familiar with. It confuses me why that tag shows. If you know some bands, I will check them out on YouTube. And if not, I will probably listen to some sooner or later and continue doing so if I am lucky enough to be able to appreciate it.

I prefer artists such as Dismember, Dissection, Slayer, Fear Factory, Old Man's Child, Cradle of Filth, Obituary, Carpathian Forest, Dark Funeral, HammerFall, Sabaton, Primal Fear, Combichrist, Suicide Commando, Massacra, Cannibal Corpse, Tactical Sekt, Bloodbath, Grendel (the aggrotech artist), Psyclon Nine, Aesthetic Perfection, God Module, X-Fusion, Angerfist, Agonoize, 1349, The Equinox Ov The Gods, Turmion Kätilöt, Strapping Young Lad, The Berzerker... and Tzeentch knows how many more. I think my fave band might just be Depeche Mode. And this isn't including music such as the Euphoria series which has lots of wicked Hard House tunes.

There is a little downside to it xD I'm listening to music 20 - 40 hours per week depending on schedule. I'm getting accused of hoarding. My CDs are taking up half a room. Sooner or later I'm going to have to focus on my external hard drive. And it breaks my heart that even with my long life expectancy, there's so much music out there that I will never listen to.

Just take those old records off the shelf.
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself.
Today's music ain't got the same soul.
I like that old time rock 'n' roll.

Loving all the metal posts! I typically listen to death metal (brutal, melodic, old-school, technical, progressive), black metal (atmospheric, dsbm, blackgaze, symphonic), progressive metal, deathcore, and a few thrash and doom metal bands.
