has anyone seen the new glee episode? I've been a gleek ever since I could remember... and it's been quite a while since I last thought an episode actually had an impact on me - this one did. I'm reffering to the 3rd episode of the 6th season. -SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!- we had Santana proposing to Brittany, we had Kurt's interior struggle with letting Blaine go, and we had the bombastic revelation of Coach Beiste's GID (gender identity disorder). I think it's pretty obvious that this show celebrates difference, but this episode shined a light on some LGBT subjects. please, if you've seen this, tell me what you thought of it below!!
It was GD (Gender Dysphoria). GID is outdated. I'm so proud of Glee for doing this as well as they did. I have a post discussing the episode in my queue on tumblr and it should be up later today. And Peacemaker, the episode should be up on the Fox website.
WAIT THIS IS THE NEW SEASON?!?! KURT IS LETTING BLAINE GO?!?! Omg, I'm actually going to cry right now!
oh, sorry! as you can see, I'm not very well educated on the matter... I'd love to read that post!! PM me once it's up ---------- Post added 17th Jan 2015 at 04:53 PM ---------- well, he's not... that's kind of the thing
Does anyone else think this episode sucked? Honestly, I think glee needs to pick something and stick with it. The first three seasons were great. The 4th one introduced all these new main characters and they weren't bad or anything, but halfway through the 5th season they decided to get rid of all of them and move most of the original characters to New York. Only to move everyone back at the end of the season. The first episode of this season was okay, it kind of looked like they were trying to get everything back on track. And the 2nd episode introduced the new characters as if they were going to be main characters in the show, only to give them like two minutes of air time this week. And Mr. Shu isn't even a main character anymore.
Totally agree! I've come to expect random plot lines from the show but I was really hoping for the last season they could reign it in. The last episodes seem kinda all over the place and without much direction. Would've much rather followed around the the original cast in their adult lives finishing out their story lines and give us some closure. I don't mind Beiste coming out but to do it now and with her character seems shoehorned in just for trendiness and didn't get the story it deserves. I did love the Britanna moments though :eusa_clap
Since everyone moved to New York I basically watch Glee to see Santana verbally abuse someone. I was not disappointed.
Personally I love that Glee doesn't stick to just one area. It shows how real life really is. It's a random chaotic mess that somehow creates a life. I think every season has been amazing and I am very sad that this will be the last season. I know it couldn't last forever but I really hoped it would last longer than six seasons. As for the last episode I think they are handling the story lines they are creating perfectly. I have not been so emotionally moved by a television show yet this year. Glee always hits the mark. I cannot wait to see where they go with the final episodes!
Lol it's okay. A lot of people aren't aware about it. Gender Dysphoria is listed in the new DSM that came out in either 2013 or 2014. No harm, no foul! As for my post, it's on tumblr now. If you go to the "coach beiste" tag, it's called "Jagged Little Tapestry and Coach Beiste's Arc--Why Does It Matter?" You might need to scroll down a bit, but it should be there.
