I have a confession to make... When I'm feeling particularly mushy or lonely, I'll look at various types of fan art, usually of particular pairings or wishful shipping. A lot of the artwork is very nice, and it leaves one feeling kind of warm in the chest. I'm not really fond of the more graphic stuff, but that's just me. I like my shipping art to be more, well, tender or loving. So, that said, I wanted to make a thread dedicated to this, where everybody can share some of their favorite pairing artwork: Azula x Ty Lee If you've ever watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, then you'll probably know that Princess Azula doesn't listen to anybody... but Ty Lee comes the closest to an exception. She's the only one that can even get beneath Azula's cold exterior, which is why I find their interactions very pleasant. This image is just too adorable and heartwarming. And that says something, when it's Princess fuckin' Azula. It's a very tender image. Again, that's impressive, considering who one half is. Shikamaru x Temari If you've ever watched Naruto, then you probably know who Shikamaru and Temari are. They're almost total opposites. Shikamaru is a genius, but he's a slacker, complains, and does whatever he can to avoid taking on more work or responsibility. Ironically, his genius allows him to do just this. Temari on the other hand, is very driven and fierce, as well as very intelligent, but also a little mean. She doesn't enjoy wasting time or slacking off, though. She's a bad bitch, to put it bluntly. Their interactions in the show are some of the best, and you can see, over a period of time, hints and clues to their budding relationship. In fact, with Naruto having ending it's Manga run, officially, they do become a couple, even having a child together. Obviously, this made me very happy. Sweet in expression, relaxing in gesture. Something I wouldn't mind doing, maybe while watching the clouds or the stars... One of my favorite images. Shikamaru is doing what he does best, while Temari tends to her own thing. It's a loving posture, something I'd like to do one day; in either position. Da feelz~! Vegeta x Bulma Vegeta is the official "bad boy" of Dragon Ball Z. He begins as a villain, gradually becomes an anti-hero until, finally, near the end of the series, he's pretty much become an edgy hero. During his transition from anti-hero, though, he meets Bulma, a childhood friend of his eternal rival, Goku, and the two, somehow, hit it off. What makes their relationship so amusing is the dynamics. Both of them are stubborn, prone to a quick temper, and dislike being toyed with. However, through Bulma, Vegeta begins to learn to love, and through Vegeta, Bulma learns what it means to grow up (her family is very, very rich, so she can do whatever she wants; she's spoiled as a result of this, too). This sums up their relationship. Vegeta, the bad ass, isn't comfortable with public displays of affection, or even admitting (until much later in the series) that he cares about anybody but himself. Bulma knows this and, playfully, takes advantage of it. I love this picture. The look on Vegeta's face says it all. He's the prince of a dead warrior race that thrived on violence and fighting, but here he is, captured in the arms of a woman and being... kissed? The horror~!
There are some very talented artist I follow on Deviantart but their works too big to post as picture in here and some might not be good idea to link as their galleries contains some NSFW arts... While they are good to look at, I find myself more indulged with fanfiction... if it is written good. I can advice anyone to read Minisinoo's work about Cyclops/Jean and X-Men. Climbing the Wind and Genesis of Cyclops is my favorites... Now have to read the others from that link I passed. She is working I see.

I drew fanart of real life Japanese musicians before, back when I was drawing in anime style. My favourite was Izam and Aoi from Shazna. Those two, I swear there was something really something going on between them haha
I kinda do the same thing too sometimes. Although, I really like looking through yaoi shippings. (the yaoi shippings aren't real... but I can still dream!) Here's some that I like a lot Anime: K-Project Mikoto Suoh x Reisi Munakata If only this were real in the anime! Mikoto is adorable... Anime: Clannad Tomoya Okazaki x Nagisa Furukawa (straight couple) Real couple in the anime. From one of my favorite love stories! Anime: Durarara!! Shizuo x Izaya Not a real couple, but there's been a few teasers in the anime for the fans... What I like most about this pick is because it captures the love/hate relation. In the anime, they hate each other and are always fighting. You can see the knife and cuts in the picture while they are kissing. Amazing!
I haven't looked at shipping fan art in a while actually. So this was a nice excuse to look up some I used to like and spot some I hadn't seen before. John and Aeryn of Farscape, the ultimate star-crossed lovers. The likenesses here are pretty spot on, and I love the background. Plus: despite the romantic theme Aeryn still looks like a badass, which is as it should be. I've always wanted to see some good Aeryn and Chiana. There are a few images, but all the ones I've seen are basically just lesbian porn. Not that I have any problem with porny images but I don't see many that don't look soulless, esp with female/female pairings. Sherlock Holmes and John Watson of BBC Sherlock. ^And this, because romance or bromance, this pretty much covers Sherlock's whole attitude to their relationship. Madame Vastra and Jenny of Doctor Who. A married lesbian couple/crime fighting duo from Victorian London. Oh yeah, and you might notice one of them is a lizard. Doctor Who leads the way when it comes to progressive! The movie adaptation of V for Vendetta had it's flaws, and I'm not a fan of Natalie Portman as an actress. That said, V and Evey as a pairing do make for some cool imagery. Mainly because V is always fully covered including the mask, and you never see his face. The rose in this is a particularly nice colour contrast. ^And this one, for the spooning. Luther and Alice. I liked these two together from the first episode I saw, for the dynamic of their interactions. There's a sort of role-reversal with them, the actress who plays Alice described her character as being like the Hannibal Lecter to Luther's Clarice Starling, he is the good police officer always trying to do the right thing, she is the cold-cold killer that he ends up turning to when he needs help outside of the rules. Sadly there are precious few fan art depictions of them that I've seen, which is a shame given that interacial pairings aren't as common. The image above is a nice one, although being B+W it doesn't capture the stark red of Alice's hair. Willow and Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Similarly this one: ^But the above has kissing and colour. To be honest I'd prefer to see a lesbian pairing involving Faith, but once again it's the same thing as mentioned above that most of what I've seen is just porn. There's more stuff with these two as they are an established canon couple.
I somehow forgot about these, Howard and Vince from the Mighty Boosh (or just Julian and Noel who play them in the case of the first pic, much the same thing!) : And: Just for the record I'm not normally keen on wedding images, or anything wedding related, but this is the exception of the one wedding I would like to see, as would every other Boosh fan I imagine. Especially given how excited Vince would get at the prospect of wearing a dress with a lightening bolt down the front! (He likes these).
Okay I give in... Here is Nasyu. Even I like her art more than couplings (as I am stranger to shows), her gallery is nice. Like this one... Those guys are from Teen Wolf TV series... I keep forgetting their names tho'

I do the same thing sometimes. Or I roleplay as one of my favorite characters and role play any fluffy adorable lovey dovey thing I want. I ship FrUs And Korrasami And Bubbline And UkUs And FrUk And AusHun (One of my few hetero ships) I ship a lot of other things too. Honestly I'm pretty chill about shipping characters.
