There's been a bunch of threads on this but there always fun. List shows you've seen with major LGBTQ story lines and/or characters and then list ones you want to see.

Shows I'm Finished/Caught Up As Of Now On
    - Degrassi
    - Glee
    - Ellen (the sitcom from the 90s)
    - Chasing Life
    - Faking It

Shows I've Started But Need to Catch Up
    - Pretty Little Liars (I haven't seen any of the newest season)
    - Skins UK (I'm about half way through)
    - The Fosters (I've seen all of the newest season but none of the one before, I know that's kind of weird)
    - Grey's Anatomy (I'm not very far in and I haven't gotten to the LGBTQ yet but I know it's coming)

    Shows I'd Like to Watch
    - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    - Legend of Korra
    - Orange is the New Black (when I'm older)
    - Shameless US (when I'm older)
    - The L Word (when I'm older)

    What about you guys?

I need to start watching OitNB. I only watched the first season and the first episode of the second.
That's the only one that has a big LGBT focus that I watch.
One of the actresses that played a recurring character on The L Word also plays a main character on Person of Interest and in one of the latest episodes she and the other female protagonists shares a passionate kiss before she sacrifices herself for the team. I was expecting that but oh well....

Saving Hope, a canadian medical drama, has a possible lesbian couple.
Rookie Blue, a Canadian cop drama, has a lesbian character (who doesn't come out til season 4, but still).
Torchwood, a Doctor Who spinoff, has a pansexual character.
Revenge, an American drama, has a bisexual character.
Lost Girl, a Candian fantasy-drama, has several LGB characters--the main character is bi. It's pretty sexy though, so maybe not good for the youngins?
Orphan Black, a Canadian sci-fi, has gay and trans characters. Also a bit sexy. But awesome.

Any more suggestions? I'd love to start a series that has a lesbian character specifically.

eta: Wow, go Canada for lesbian representation!

Queer as Folk - features a lot of Canadian actors (it was filmed in Toronto). The quintessential gay show if there ever was one, dealing with too many issues to count.

Looking - Something like Girls meets Sex in the City, but for gays. Really love this show. If you liked QaF, this is for you.

The New Normal - Reminds me of Modern Family but with a gay family. It's okay.

Rick and Steve - Canadian animated series from 2007 or so. Not bad.

Mrs Browns Boys - Not a "gay" show, but has gay characters and is one of the funniest sitcoms I've ever seen. If you like British humor, this show is a must!

Drawn Together - features a gay character and a half-dozen gay-issue episodes. For fans of Family Guy, South Park, etc, this show comes highly recommended and was a HUGE help when I was questioning my own sexuality.

Yoai ('gay' anime) - Drammatical Murder, Gravitation, Sukisho

oitnb - probably my favourite, a huge number of lgbt characters from diverse backgrounds
lost girl - haven't seen an awful lot of it but it seems fun
xena - i'm not sure if this counts... i know it was technically subtext but it really doesn't seem like it when you're watching it!
orphan black - very interesting, love all the actresses as well especially evelyne brochu!!
sugar rush - wonderful and sadly not very well known british series, unfortunately it got cancelled but i strongly recommend it
faking it - constantly straddling the line between finding it annoying and entertaining, i like amy, reagan and lauren though
skins - i enjoyed s1/2 but other than the naomily storyline i'm finding s4 dull...
grey's anatomy - great show all round, i absolutely love callie and her storylines!!
in the flesh - this was a bit out of my usual taste but i enjoyed it
    the l word - couldn't get into this :/
glee - we don't talk about that

i would like to watch the legend of korra and pretty little liars soon, i've heard they're both good

Brooklyn Nine Nine is by no means a LGBTQ+ orientated show, but it does have good representation, as the Chief of Police/Captain is gay, and he is a black, masculine and non-stereotype conforming gay married man. His gay identity is neither erased or highlighted, it is just part of who he is and as much focus is given to it as the other straight characters relationships.

I recommend the show anyway, as it is pretty funny

Grey's Anatomy is a great one. I idolized that for quite a while and it also made me feel a little more confident about my self but unfortunately im one season behind :frowning2: hope to catch it on netflix soon. Also The L Word.I have that whole set on DVD and boy it wasnt cheap but it really opens your eyes if you are inexperienced and curious.

Transparent on Amazon Prime is very good, in my opinion.

    Cucumber, Banana, Tofu!!

Just started watching it and it's awesome. They're three interlinked shows written by Russell T Davies (the guy who write Doctor Who and Queer as Folk).
Cucumber focuses on a gay man, whereas Banana is an anthology series focusing on younger people on the LGBTQ spectrum. Tofu is an online documentary about sex in general.
It is VERY graphic and they basically talk about sex all the time. ^^ And Wikipedia says there will be a transgender character in later episodes who is played by a transgender actress.

Legend of Korra was amazing. The ending blows me away every-time I see it.
I sometimes can't believe they went there on a Nickelodeon show.

The L Word - first lgbt show, loved it except season 6
Queer As Folk (American version), loved it, hated the lesbian characters though
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Willow and Tara forever!
Xena - when subtext is as central as on Xena, it counts!
Glee (first season only), didn't like it
Faking It (first season only), didn't like it
A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila/Ikki Twins - reality, what was I thinking?
Gimme Sugar - reality, didn't mind it
Tierra De Lobos - Spanish soap only for the Crisabel scenes, very sweet
    OITNB - awesome!

    Web series mentions:
    Carmilla - love it
    3 Way - hilarious
We Have To Stop Now - cute

Want to watch: South Of Nowhere. I know a lot about it, plots and characters. I've watched many scenes but not in it's entirety.

I love Faking It and Orange Is The New Black.
I never finished watching The L Word, but it was pretty addicting.
I watch the Fosters (Jude is adorable! Go queer kids!)
I still watch Glee even though I hate it. The first two seasons were AMAZING and it just all went downhill after that.
I'd like to watch Legend of Korra. After the first episode I dismissed it as not being as good as Avatar: The Last Airbender but now I might rethink that.

    ---------- Post added 25th Feb 2015 at 06:00 PM ----------

Also I am a firm believer that Dean Winchester from Supernatural is bisexual whether it is deemed "canon" or not, so I'm gonna add that one xD

It is an amazing Australian TV show mostly for LGBT people. It is by far one of the best TV shows I have watched and it has a main character who is gay.
