I never thought I would legitimately enjoy it. But one day I watched a couple episodes with my mom and I got so hooked it's stupid. I've only seen like 10 episodes that I've recorded but I ordered the whole series on DVD as a birthday present to myself. Anyways does anyone else share my fascination?

I loved the show when it was running on TV back in my younger days. Blanche was my favorite but honestly I love them all. Show uses classic comedy formula to great success. Oh and whenever I listen show's theme it stucks my head for hours if not for days and I can't stop listening it.
I used to always watch The Golden Girls when it was originally on.So funny! Wasnt so keen on the spin off tho.Might have something to do with Dorothy not being in it.
Yesss this show is the bomb. I love those ladies Sophia is my favorite. Love her one-liners~ I think it was one of the few TV shows at that time that attempted to portray gay people in a positive light. If you watch the episode where Blanche's gay brother visits, then you'll know what I mean lol.
It's a great show. I could fall in love with a woman like Blanche. She is just too divine to resist. Dorothy rocks and so does her mother Sophie (well she rocks even more). But Rose has some moments where she totally melts my heart. She is just so sweet... You feel like running to hug her. Good writers ... A thing we don't have anymore on tv. Tell me how you can turn a tv series about four old women's lives, into something like The Golden Girls... You must have some serious writers there to make such a killer show, still being remembered after +20 years, you know... No cheap drama, no tricks, no jumping the shark... Just perfect.
Haha it's funny you mention this because I was watching it last night for the first time in a while. Anyways, I never thought I would like it either. It seemed very dated. I never got around to actually watching it, but a few months ago I watched an episode and then two... And then I actually realized it's very funny and entertaining...
My little sister got me into this show, actually. When I first started watching it, I hated Dorothy, but the more I watched, the more I liked her. She is now my favorite character on the show. My favorite scene though is when Rose knocks on Sophia's door and Sophia pretends to be an answering machine: "Please leave a message after the beep. Beep." "Hi, this is Rose..."
I SAW THAT EPISODE THE OTHER DAY. I like how right after that quote Rose said she would come back later and Sophia says "Get in here now! I'm not up all night. I'm not a 7/11."
I remember that I loved watching that show as a kid. I'll have to find it and stream a couple episodes.

Yes! I love that show! The four of them made the most functionally dysfunctional group of women on TV.
