Hi Everyone! Justin here again. There has been a lot of buzz lately on the book Twilight, and the series, and was wondering if any guys have read the book. I know a lot of the girls like to read it but would love a guys opinion.

    Thanks for looking! :icon_wink

  2. I love that series. The books are by no means deep, or the best I've ever read. They are very cute in places though. I'd reccomend them. Go Edward!

Good books, well written, a good plot, and great general concept.
They are, however, a little shallow and unrealistic at times as far as the relationship between Edward and Bella goes, but all in all, they're worth reading.
    GO TEAM EDWARD!

I thought Twilight was pretty good. There was this whole air of mystery and the chemistry between Edward and Bella was really fun. The second and third books were not nearly as good. Nothing truly interesting happened in either book until about the last 50 pages. In their defense though, those last 50 pages were excellent. Book 4 was really, really great though. It was worth suffering through the 2nd and 3rd beause the fourth was so good in comparison.

Yeah I really like the series. I'm on New Moon and I'm enjoying it. I'm all prepped now for the movie. Can't wait.

I'm in the process of reading atm.

One of my friends at school saw me reading it and he said "Isn't that that book for girls?". But oh, how the tables have turned: he told me that he was up late reading it at night

I haven't finished it, so I can't give my final opinion, but at the moment, I'm really loving it.

No, I've never completed one and I probably never will. The concept has no appeal for me at all. From what little I read of the first book and a summary of the second, it sounds like really bad fanfiction that somehow got published.

It's not quite THAT bad. Overall I thought it was a fairly average series, but there's something about it that makes it so you can't put it down until you finish. It's a very stange feeling when you hate a book (I'm looking at you books 2 and 3) and want to stop reading but you can't quite bring yourself to do it. The only reason I even read them in the first place is beacuse my sister had been bugging me to read it for months. I finally just got sick of the pestering and gave in and read it.

That's what I thought too. Sparkly vampires? And I can't believe so many teenage girls go around saying they want someone just like Edward, he's abusive.

The Twilight series makes for excellent comedic Anne Rice fanfiction.

For anyone who has actually read Bram Stoker's Dracula works, "Twilight" is an insult to vampire fiction. Vampires are soulless demons who sustain themselves on the blood of living creatures, not charming and polite romantics who play the piano.

Personally I prefer Anne Rice's sexy vampires.

(I haven't read Twilight by the way...)

Vampires like Frankenstien's monster and other FICTIONAL creations can be displayed in many different was. Its called fantasy. You create your own world. There is not one set of rules that says these things have to be written this way. Its called Fiction.

as for the Twilight saga. Its amazing. The storyline is pretty easy to follow/fall in love with. Unless your a very critical historical like person then just stay away because you will incite major lunchroom smack downs (verbal!)

  20. Seconded. (But I have read Twilight.)
