    I feel it's somewhat of a miscategorization, but Rose of Versailles in considered shoujo ai by some and is definitely the origination of many later character types (Revolutionary Girl Utena main character is often considered inspired by Lady Oscar from Rose of Versailles).

    Either way I recommend this anime a lot! Very well written and a classic, plus it's finally in a real English sub, only 30 years after initial release!

    Well, in Gintama, the Yagyuu arc (episodes 76-81) touches on load of LGBT+ themes, there's Kyuubei (whom of which I love much) who is either agender or bigender or... Something... And kyuubei and otae are engaged (sorta) so I guess that's yuri... Faviroute arc in all of gintama...
