Being taken every where by my older brothers, I grew up with Ska and punk rock. But I hardly ever see or rather hear anyone listening to it anymore.... So is ska dead? Or Am I jhst deaf????(!)
I lived through the second and third waves. And who knows, there might still be a fourth. I have a friend who is in a ska band. Lex
Ska and Punk will never die!!! still listening ska and punk sometimes.. Grew up with metal, rock, ska and punk, was a punker for a long time of my life... F*ck society and rock on!
SKA-P, a spanish band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kkXPbLucVM Freygolo, a French band that sings in English https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsvc3zeKFLY
I have friends who listen to Ska, so I would imagine its not dead. Then again, I can't think of any genre that's dead. Except nu-metal. Nu-metal is definitely dead.
Huh. Been a while since I've seen people actually like and remember ska. +1 faith in humanity. Ten more and I finally get my wings. Streetlight manifesto is my favorite for many a reason.(*hug*)
I love Ska. Op Ivy are my favorite ska-punk band, I also love Common Rider. Ska is sure as hell not dead. I was in a ska band a while ago (sometime in mid-2013) but we didn't really get along
It was a big 90s fad, wasn't it? I was born in '99, so I didn't exactly get to experience it. But I love this song: Does it count?
I'm glad my mother, and some of my own exploration, got me into punk & ska. Otherwise, I would not be the awesome person I am today. The only one that knows more about punk in my house is my mother, who is awesome as well. I'm actually in the process of starting a punk band. Also, I so want fourth wave of ska.
I guess punk and ska will never die, it just goes more underground from time to time... Love bands like the sex pistols, nofx, the Ramones and so on
