Hello all! I'm still trying to get the hang of guy's clothing, and I've never been good at knowing what goes with what. However, my friends are split on this subject. Do ties go with polos?
Also, what looks snazzy to wear?

    I SECOND THE PLAID LOVE.

Ties basically only go with dress shirts. Guy fashion is boring, honestly. Know when to break the rules and when to follow them xD For example, most guys don't use enough colour, which is a shame. Copying fashion/looks that you like is also a good start.

Vests are cool and underworn in my opinion, and more people should wear henleys. Dark purple is also underworn. Know what looks good with your skin tone, but also don't limit yourself to not wearing the colours you do like. Dark purple looks good on almost everyone, though, as well as baby blue and dark green.

Usually no, but sometimes fashion rules can be broken if it isn't meant to be a formal occasion.Like Dain said, men's fashion is so boring, it's almost good to try to spice up your look sometimes.

Just be careful if you are a bigger or muscular guy because you may end up looking like this (kinda looks like a doof to me)

That first one redneck posted is really cute. So yeah, I'd say no tie unless you make it loose in an intentionally lazy/rebellious style. Tying it all the way up would look ridiculous with a polo.

White dress shirt and vest with a tie though? Awesome look. My mom tried to tell me three-piece suits were old fashioned and outdated, but I got one anyway and never fail to look like pure class XD.

Lol, though I never really dress past a polo, I want a dress shirt/vest/tie combo... though I'd probably go crazy and add a fedora and spats

Eggplant is a really nice shade of purple, it's just a shame it's so rare! I forgot to mention that grey and navy are really safe colours that work on everyone, too. White actually surprisingly isn't as safe as one would think, partly because if you're like me then it can bring out tan/gold hues, unless you prefer that look on yourself.

To wear, or...? xD I like sunset orange, a light but bold green, and baby blue as well as navy. I'd wear them if I could, but the former two are actually difficult to wear and look well in when paired with my skin tone. Since it's hard to pull off wearing those kinds of orange and green tones for me, my favourite colours to wear are navy, dark green, baby blue, smoky grey, and beige. Those are all safe colours too, admittedly. Dark purple/plum/eggplant would be there if it were more readily available in guys' clothing.

Plaid usually looks nice regardless. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'm wondering why this thread is in Entertainment and Media??

Are you wanting to dress to be on camera or make people laugh????

Oh, no, I posted it here because it said 'fashion' as one of the topics in the subtext. To be honest, I'm afraid to show what I look like on the internet XD
